darcym should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Testing on Old tyres ? does that mean USED tyres ?

on itv-f1.com JV stated some dissapointment in testing "used tyres".

As I understood it this meant a compound or tyres design that had been used before, in fact a new / better version than what BAR used. Which I understand, as the tyre make gives preferential treatment to "Partner - works team - customer". re-reading the thread though it appear JV is suggesting that another car had actually USED the exact tyre he was using before ??? I know this is not very probable, but what do you all think.

I saw this story on Autosport.com, and had to read it a couple of times to make sense of it.

JV's comment "I wish I had had these tyres before this test, like in a race" implies that it must be a case of a type of tyre previously available to other teams; if the tyres were used in the other sense, he wouldn't have wanted to have been given them in a race. He also mentions that the situation was akin to an earlier episode in which other Bridgestone teams were given tyres not made available to BAR.

Also, I'd be amazed if the BAR team took delivery of worn tyres from Bridgestone, even if the mechanics fitting them assumed the wear was from previous BAR running.

The first two paragraphs do suggest that whoever wrote the story isn't sure what Villeneuve meant though, don't they?

I am sure they meant tyre type. Poorly written. Unsurprising really.

Yeah, its tire type. Ferrari raced them then BAR finally got them. So much for the rule change helping the "smaller" teams.
