Yeah, was really proud of the Tom Cole grid but all the grids were great. Didn't see too many of the races as was doing the usual charging about and catching up with people and involved with awards etc. However, apart from our race, I made a point of watching the Frazer Nash race, given the content; some incredibly rare and exotic cars in that. Patrick B-E and his colleagues did an amazing job putting that grid together.

From a marshalling point of view, one of the best days in recent years. A terrific assembly of cars with friendly and enthusiastic drivers, great atmosphere in the paddock and good, clean racing.

All involved, be it on track or behind the scenes, should rightly feel proud of yesterday's Spring Start meeting.

What a great shot, John, thanks. I've done a brief headline report on our website:

A full report with photos will appear eventually.

More pics of all the races, will I'm sure be appreciated by all. Where's old, Bob - I'm sure he took a few!

Sorry, Gary, was rushing through the posts and made an assumption! We should have said 'hello' as I was at Luffield, where I froze to death, for the whole of our race.

All brilliant pics, as always. For me and surely many many others, it's those and reports from meetings that make the Historic Racing Today forum stand out. Thanks again for the time and effort you put in, guys.

Oh, and sure the BRDC would like the shot Gary posted! (Whoops, nearly had an I instead of an O there... Bloody iPad.)

And, being biased, have to love the Flat Rad Morgan.

Yes, it was great to see the Flat Rad there, Mike. It was Leigh Sebba's car driven by Peter Cole in our race and by Leigh in the 1950s Sports car race. I really hope that we can persuade Leigh to bring the car out more often with FISCAR. It certainly should be (hopefully) at Donington on 22 May as that is the Morgan Sports Car Club's own meeting at which we have a grid.

John T. good to snatch a few seconds with you on Saturday, and thanks for a great race and field. I will send you a selection of pics for the web site if you can use them. Is there any particular car you would like?

While the cars were good to look at the icing on the cake was the sound of Steve's DB3 blasting through Copse. Made my day.

Well done,

Bob.

It wasn't that cold....I think the 2 of us who were venturing trackside didn't need to resort to putting on jackets - unlike our young flaggie.

Bit late to the party on this one for various reasons I'm afraid so I won't post loads of photos but I think the only races that Brands didn't cover were the last two. I managed to get a few of the Morgan's so here goes:

Easy mistake to make at your age, Bob

I've been going to Silverstone for over 50 years and I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever been much colder at Luffield. I found it almost impossible to keep my camera still, I was shaking that much. However, I suspect that the spectator terraces being higher and more exposed were colder than trackside. That's my excuse anyway.
