I've been going to Silverstone for over 50 years and I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever been much colder at Luffield. I found it almost impossible to keep my camera still, I was shaking that much. However, I suspect that the spectator terraces being higher and more exposed were colder than trackside. That's my excuse anyway.

Marshalling in the snow.

This is my 66th. year at the circuit, John, and I can say with honestly that I did not find it particularly cold. Indeed when the sun shone it was quite pleasant, and merely chilly when the wind blew, so maybe age has it's compensations.

Bob.

Bob.
You have a few years on me. My first visit was in 1958 for the British GP.

Thanks for posting shot of my Frazer Nash Norris no 32 . I enjoyed race 9 even if I was chasing some rather more modern stuff...at least they pulled the best time I've ever done out of me. Thanks to all the marshals, it didn't seem so cold in the paddock but it was a bit chilly on the track.
