Classic Endurance Racing
Guys can you help me with the following queries. Classic Endurance Racing do not have the courtesy to reply to my first question
1. Is a 1977-79 Torana A9X touring car (Bathurst 1000 77-79) eligible for the series. How about an XC Ford Falcon (Bathurst 1000 1979) 2 If eligible how about a replica of the car or does it have to be a genuine historic race car from the era. 3. If a replica is eligible do they have to be built from the same model ie an A9X or can it be built from the base modellike a Torana SL ( I suppose a clearer example is a lotus cortina from a 220 model) 4. What other races in the UK or Europe would the replica be eligible for so you could make the most of taking the car to the UK |

The Peter organisation does not like replicas
Speak to Masters and see what they say.I am sure they can find a place |

As a broad answer in Europe we are more comfortable with homologated cars. They have a laid down specification which is verifiable and every one can follow. National cars tend to complicate issues considerably. Holden homologated the Commodore series 1979-1990 which is probably a better bet. You can replicate these cars or take a base car up to homologated specification

If that is really the case, they should start by throwing out the fake B16s that race in their series. |

So far I have identified chassis no.6, 14, 26,35 and 36. As you seem to know the cars please indicate which according to you is a fake....(two years ago I saw a car in the USA that also claimed to be #36) |

It is not my intention to pinpoint any particular car.
The B16 thread in the Chassis History Archive section is certainly a better place for that. Note that out of the 5 cars entered in the Spa race, 3 had BMW engines and this alone poses question about originality. |

I do not know if that car is the original one, but as a kid I used to love that Kent / Frami Capri.
It was driven by Claude Bourgognie and Jean Claude Franck, sounded wonderful in its heyday. |

Spoken to a Chevron builder who worked at the Factory building cars. Some B16's were built and sold with BMW engines from new .16 original cars?
