Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
An improvement. Let's hope a few STCC & BTCC teams turn up! BUT will they start letting NGTC/STCC new rules cars in?

I don't think so, it'd be too much of a mess; balancing such different cars would be too hard, I think. So I would expect very few (if not none) entries from the BTCC, as I don't think Plato would bother to go to Austria for the ETCC. That's a shame, because the idea of the championship is realy good but, as usual, the FIA is screwing the touring car world up.

As much as I love the Salzburgring, I think that a Touring Car World Cup should be at a bigger venue.

I know in the past Monza and Donington has had that honour, but I think those are the kind of venues it should be looking at.

I assume the FIA will use the same entry criteria as the WTCC - S2000 or locally homologated S2000, with either 2.0 or 1.6T engine. Looks like most BTCC S2000 entries are going to using NGTC engines, so that rules them out straight away. It's likely that only Chevrolet and WSR/Forster BMWs will be eligible and I can't see any of those wanting to take part.

Exactly....! And it looks like the 2.0 N/As are obsolete already; They say the new engines make cars a lot faster

Niek Oude Luttikhuis is the first driver in the 2011 list, who will drive a cutting edge Mitsubishi Carisma (diamonds, get it?).

a 11 year old car wich was driven by Allard Kallf in the Dutch Touring Car Championship in 2000.

they managed to do 1 lap in practice, and that was it.

what a professional entry!

If the race moved to the Nordschleife and the 24h weekend, they could attract a much better grid.
