Andretti...Montoya...Andretti...Montoya!
Been having quite alot of fun fiddling with my new computer. Remember the sound bytes I uploaded several months ago? Well, now I can record video too...
Thing is, I'm gonna have to figure out a way to make the files smaller. The one I've just made is 7884KB. Here's the final lap of the 2000 Michigan 500, submitted for your enjoyment... (Hopefully you've got a HSpeed connection!) I'll keep tinkering with the software, and hope to provide other snippets from time to time... The original link posted here no longer exists... Sorry Macdaddy, while I was on the edge of my seat for that..I think I was more on the edge of my seat for fear that they'd touch wheels and one of them would go flying. I was relieved when they crossed the finish line in one piece - who cares who won. Not my kind of racing. |

they did touch wheels! alot the 'firestone' or whatever they were running then (was it bridgstone?) was rubbed off the wheels of both cars at races end- a real race Busch and Craven had a real fight this year too in NASCAR, and the close finishes in IRL but nothing like this battle in CART. |

Macdaddy, The clip don't work on my computer, It needs a VCR2 codec that is only available on some ATI card drivers.
I suggest you that you go over here: Div-X The quality should be better than VCR2 and the filesize a bit lower

Yeah, the video won't play for me either, which is too bad. This was a race that I remember watching back when I was just starting to watch CART relifiously, rather than casually as I had done in the past. Great memories for me. Thanks Macdaddy!

I found the ATI VCR2 codec here: VCR2 Codec
I downloaded it, its 6megs. After installing it, it wasn't working with Windows Media Player. Maybe it needs to reboot after. I loaded it in Virtualdub, a program I use to edit videos and what a great movie I found!  You're soo lucky Macdaddy! It must have been a great day!

I could not see it. I have an ATI video card. I tried it with Ulead VideoStudio6.. still un able to see it.. I have played with divX. (do not know it your file would work there) and it seems to be a good program for writing video files like "ElScOrChO" posted.

I could play it without problem on Windows Media Player...
No matter, it's gone now. I've just downloaded some conversion freeware, deleted the original, and uploaded a "new" version of the same clip. It's quite abit smaller, but still 4203KB. Hopefully y'all can watch it now. I ask that you let me know, because if you still can't then I'll try to figure something else out. I've got tons of vid to share over the offseason, just have to figure out a way to do it! Again... The link no longer exists. Sorry! New link given later in discussion... AVI is just a shell or a wrapper around a video file, it can be encoded with an number of codecs. If the codec you use isn't on someone elses computer, they can't view the file. DIVX is good to use cause its very popular and most people have it. Plus it encodes in good quality for the file sizes that it produces.

DIVX works for me when I got the lastest version. Media Player, WinAmp, Real One did not work for me on WinXP Home.
