Obviously the Alfa symbol is the quadrofoglio. This only having three points made me wonder if it is a stylised shamrock instead.
If so - could it have been found on the 'Shamrock' prototype built in Tralee in 1959?

Hehehe.... aka the Irish T Bird. (Albeit with engine from an A55 Cambridge!)

More of the story and more pics for info.

But, is that the answer? Kudos to crmalcolm if it is.

Very interesting link thanks. Being the Historic "Racing" section I'd say Crosslé or Costin TMC. Crosslé my favorite answer. Ta!

No, it is not the Shamrock. It was some 10 years later it was seen.

Something in the back of my mind is saying it could be like a "Jolly" club car from Italy, possibly a Ferrari?

Good to see you here, Mike! Do you remember a shamrock being the emblem of the Jolly Club? Assuming you're right, let's go for Lancia but I very much doubt its the answer…

The colour o0f the car made me immediately think of Prince Bira's ERA, but that doesn't fit in with the timescale you've hinted at (or the 'lip' on the base of the car's bodywork).
A good little teaser this one...

Some good suggestions here, although we have eliminated all the obvious ones on here we can think of. Can't think what it could be either. Ah well, look forward to hearing the answer

Something about it brings to mind a German car, in an iconic livery - although I haven't been able to track down any evidence to support this guess?

Ho l?*, l?*, pas si vite messieurs, je vous en prie… The way we go, we must study a stupid calendar for our Stupido club. Did you hear about a thirty months year? Will you have the choice between the front page or January! Special dédicace for EB, March with an M like Matra!

What’s that about a 30 month calendar? Sounds like someone has hit the wrong button when printing. Don’t worry, you don’t have to follow it, go at your own pace

Ach, mein Herr das ist eine zehr schön choice. Berg spider oder enduro guise? May be you can borrow a manual air pump from the cyclist thread to inflate the chassis, seems they are very active atm!
We will avoid any focus on the chassis weldings or the tubes surrounding the "dash board", horrible views! Martini on the house! Who's next?

Absolutely.

For the 1970 Targa Florio Porsche built the 908-3, a 3 litre engine in a 908 chassis with a 909 body fitted. $ cars were entered one by Porsche Salzburg and 3 by John Wyer even though they were being run by the works.

The salzburg car was white with a red front, driven by Vic Elford & Hans Hermann, it also had a heart decal on the front right .

The 3 JWA cars were all Pale Blue with 3 different Orange arrows, and Diamond, Spades and clubs on the front wings. the arrows were for identification purposes.

The picture is from the Leo Kinnunen/ Pedro Rodrigues car which finished second and set the fastest lap in Kinnunens hands.

Well done Will.
