I've heard only 4 seats 'free' now, the other 5 are tied up with deals that haven't been announced yet (no sadly I don't know which ones). Those without rides must be getting a sweat on now!

I would imagine one of the tied up seats is Aron Taylor-Smith... His interview suggested he had his drive sewn up bar from a signature

Thought so, but couldn't find any evidence that it was from a quick look.

Pleased for Goff, but still hope Lloyd can get a seat!

If they screw Lloyd and he is left without drive because he don't have money I have no comment.

How can Eurotech screw Lloyd ... It was Lloyd's potential sponsors that screwed him.

Jeff paid for Lloyd's seat out of his own pocket last year on the basis that big time sponsors would come, but they backed out.

I meant if no one gives him drive, not Eurotech in particular.

No one on the grid gets given a drive. They all have to pay for it in someway or another.

Correct - only four of those cars don't have drivers in them at the moment

Any clue on who it may be? No names needed, but would they please the average BTCC fan?

Simon Hill has tweeted deal done today for Jake and exciting news released in next few days - I wouldn't say that was a drive with Team Hard then!

There are 2 unannounced seats at 888, 2 at WSR and 3 and BMR... wishful thinking!

I'd be excited if I'd landed a drive anywhere on the grid.

Likewise. He made the aging Toyota look good last year, so he'll get results in any of the seats that are left really, though I would be extremely pleased if he did land up in either of the remaining top seats.

Great news! This is just what we need, be interesting to see what team he goes for, he'd be good in any team as we saw last season

Maybe it is Team Hard then? Still exciting to see Jake back on the grid (if it is him) but I think most of us see him as a potential front runner in the right machinery and it would be MORE exciting if that proved to be the case.

No matter who Hill has signed with - they would still refer to it as 'exciting'.

Can you imagine a press release that went 'Well we struggled to get a deal together, and eventually had to settle for a team that we think we may struggle to get results with. I'm disappointed that they are the only team we could get a deal together with, and feeling a little deflated by it all really'

In an official press release then I would agree, however this is a comment from a drivers' dad prior to the deal even being announced. Optimism never hurt anyone anyway
