Autosport International 2012

Hi folks,

I'm trying to sort out my tickets for next year's Autosport International Motor Show and Watkins Lecture; I've organised the latter but have hit a stumbling block over the pass for the show itself.

There is a section of the show's website for MSA licence holders, but to avail of a £5 discount you need to enter a promotional code. I'm not asking for the code to be posted here on a public forum, but would anyone be able to point me in the direction of where I might be able to find it?

Thanks,
Burnsie

Is that any way to welcome me back to Ten-Tenths after an absence of almost two years?

Didn't msa license holders used to get in free?

Not sure, Steve. I've only been going since 2008 but have paid each time. I believe BRSCC members may get in for free though, but I'm not sure.

You will find that correct. MSA licence holders do get a small discount, but not at the door, you have to apply for it.

The quick question I have to ask is whether the show is organised by the MSA, in which case they would have the power/authority to make the tickets free, or whether it is managed by a marketing company/magazine/3rd party who like the rest of us, are finding things a bit financially tough at the minute.

I suspect the latter.

The show is put on by Haymarket Exhibitions, part of the Haymarket Media group. So I guess the latter is correct!!!!!

we may do a bucket load for the motorsport world... but autosport is run by haymarket events? if it was msa events we may get in for free, imagine if the couple thousand or so existing marshals got into this event for free, if you ran autosport would you want "us lot" who wouldnt take profits from catering, who would probably turn our noses up for paying for a programme when you could get paying customers who might buy a programme each adult bringing in £40/£45, it costs a lot to hire the NEC for four days. if this was the case you'd have to PAY quite a bit for your msa license, like the AA and RAC silver accounts. unfortunately the £5 discount isnt great but it's a lot better than what we could have got, its not real discount, just a way to get more people in, unless someone has physically got us a discount. thats the way i look at it anyway

its the best we're going to get discount here, discount there, i don't like paying full whack for things as much as the next guy, i like other people try and scrimp and save to do more marshalling! not attending event where youre questioning about whether it should be free entry or not! Its well worth it though if you want to pay the £30 which is fair enough.

forgot about that! its a good membership, toyed with the idea of being a brscc member just for the autosport mid year when making preps for next year! cant' remember if it was too expensive to join or if its just the case of being a renewing barc member,Is this a new thing brscc or has it been included for years?

Maths was never my strong subject but:-

Normal admission price :-
Standard - £30
Entrance to the Show, plus a seat in the Live Action Arena

MSA discount price:-
entrance only @ £25
discounted price £20

Do you wish to attend the Live Action Arena? @ £10

So with the MSA £5 discount and wanting to watch the live action that £20+£10 = £30

When I was at school 30-5 = 25

eh i always thought it was £35 . I was talking about the full price. Its not worth it without the action arena... so lets just talk the £35.

Looks like you can use tesco club card vouchers to get a "token" to get in. All that money you spent on fuel to get to meetings ......
