Home for lost punctuation.

I, as have many others, have noticed that punctuation is missing from a lot of posts on here. I had a good look around the archives and have found the following lost punctuation :-

,,,,,,::;:;...,.??!""!?/:;:''',,.

If anyone finds any more lurking around the forum, please feel free to put it on this thread & between us, I'm sure we can find a good home for it.

Happy new year!!

i think i know where most of that lot came from however it now seems that some of it may be falling out from this post too so if you could put some back id be really greatfull no letters of complaint to the msa or the forum owners or chief marshals or mere mortals neccesary for the moment lol pmsl the other thing you seem to have ben unable to findis the fabled capitol lettres they may have migrated to some other foreign language like finnish or french or german or some other thing like that or actually i dont like that

next task speeliing reeducation

and breathe....

I'm surprised, that you've found so many commas, Steve, as, I am, usually, guilty of overusing them, so, I must have used up most, if not all, of the extras! ; )

Serious question, shouldn't that be hornets' nest as there's more than on hornet and it's their nest (I've seen the deeds)?

Evolution of the English language? We no longer use 'old english' saw some deeds for lands from 1760ish. Couldn't read it that well. Was written in 'old tongue!'

True, old English may be almost impossible to read nowadays, but the people (that mattered) at the time those deeds were written could read it. (otherwise they would not have used it. Sometimes with old documents it's the handwriting that makes them difficult to decipher. The printed word is more accessible. (I recently read some of Boswell & Johnson's Tour, written 1775) link to first edition follows

http://gdz.sub.uni-goettingen.de/dms...N=PPN251189961

quite plain what was being written.

Some posts on here are fairly indecipherable 5 seconds after they are dumped on the page/screen.

meanwhile, Mr HUMPHREY, I have foUNd SoME cAPITaLS { & some lesser used punctuation} IN A nOOk OR wAS IT a Cranny? WiLL attemPt TO USE sOME UP befoRe thEy GEt SHOUtY!
