It doesn't exactly look like a Camry. Anyway, that's the least of Toyota's concerns. They will be booed for years for challenging the four horsemen.

Yeah, that depends, Chevrolet fans (and anti Werner fans) were crying for Lambiris (a Ford driver) last year (After bullying him since forever mostly for being from Uruguay*) just driven by hate for Werner. Id guess in a closed definition between, either, lets say Werner or Canapino and Rossi/Jakos, the Toyotas will have a lot of support sudenly

*Landa doesn't seem to suffer from this tho, in fact, last year was well liked for his aggeesive style and overtaking abilities. Being in a "neutral" brand (Torino) may be helped him

Lambiris' mistake was leaving Torino to go to Ford.
I am a fan of Torino, but I really like Toyota and Toyota's racing philosophy.

The real car looks much better than the renders.

Yes but other brands also don't look like road cars.
TC are weird looking cars. I needed time (years!) to get used and like them. STC2000 is still my favorite Argentinian series but TC is becoming more and more popular.

Lambiris never was a fan favorite, in fact, he always was one of the least liked drivers, maybe together with Urcera, but even him has fans, Lambiris does't have a big enough fanbase considering how succesful he Is.

During TN races, were brand loyalty isn't a factor, Lambiris jokes and hate were common, mostly plain xenophobia and argentine fan cabeza-de-termo-itis, but his idgaf attitude didn't help.
That said, i like the guy, not my favorite, but near the top.

Talking about Lambiris, first poleman of the year,
Canapino 2nd
Gianini 3rd

The Toyotas were way off the pace, Jakos 42 and Rossi 44, rhe cars seemed really unconfortable on track,

Viedma Results

J. B De Benedictis (#157 Ford-Martinez Dowen Paggio Racing) won the first race of the season, followed by Benvenutti (#96 Torino-Concesionarios Renault Torino Team) on second and last year last winner Todino (#56 Torino-Maquin Parts Racing)

Canapino (#3 Chevrolet-JP Carrera) dominated most of the weekend and was in front when crashed, heavily with 3 laps to go on a restart defending from De Benedictis.
Lambiris (#2 Ford-Lusqtoff LCA) had engine problems on the last lap, as did Mangoni (#28 Chevrolet-JP carrera) who was first after Canapino's crash, both ended 5th and 6th, with Santero (#68 Ford-Speedagro Racing) ending 4th
Gianini(#4 Ford-JPG) had temperature problems after going out while 2nd ended 15th after recovering some places.
Rossi (#317* Toyota-TGR) ended 18th, which, considering the pace of the car, should be considered a succes, Jakos ended 27th, a lap down, and last of the ones that finished the race, with the other Camry.
As for Dodge, it was awful, Castellano (#10 Dodge-Castellano Metalfor) was the best of the brand, on 30th being the one who crashed on Canapino's car.

*Yeah, really, It even bring the issue of personal numbers vs ranking numberd

What was the reason that Werner was nowhere, stuck in the middle of the pack?

Had an Ok qualy, but was penalized on the series for a scuffle with Gini, so started 20 something the final race.

As for performance, Werner's "new" chasis (F034) has a particular story, originally was being made for him in 2020 by the DTA and/or Azul Motorsport on behalf of the Memo Corse to use during the 2020 season, and touted as "revolutionary" but the good performance of Werner plus the fallout of the Memo Corse with the DTA delayed the construction, by the time it was finished, Werner was no longer with the MC, so the car was to be used by Santero, who tested it and never used again.
The Falcon was then sold, still unraced, to the Cifre family, to be used on the TC mouras, Werner then rented it to use in an interim fashion till his new new car is finished.
So given all that, it doesn't seem as good chasis as believed/anounced.

Fords seems really variable on performance between builds, IE: Lambiris car, that was Rossi old chasis always seems to go ok on qualy but on race It falls appart, when Rossi used it, it was a monster on qualy then on the races his pace sucked, while with Lambiris seems more stable, but the race pace Is still not there.

His old car Is being used by Rodrigo Lugon in TC pista, before having to be given to the TC museum, as all champions cars, in exchange of a new chasis

New clothes for the Ambroggio Fluences, now under the Axion Energy Sport banner.

4 STC2000* Cars: Pernia, Milla, Barrios and Montenegro, with those last two also doing double duty on TC2000, with Venturino and Marqués on the oher 2 TC2000 cars.

I quite like it, even more than the RS livery

*Still debating if returning to TC2000 name, without the Super

Heavy crash for Canapino. After years with SpeedAgro and AgroSpray I still need time to get used to his new colors.

I was surprised Benedictis was able to win so easy, or at least it looked easy.

I don't think It was easy, in fact, it was luck, he could have clinched it with that outside pass, but it was its only chance, on normal circunstances Canapino's car was unbeatable, after the crash he was done but then the fuel problems for Lambiris and Mangoni happened.
Talking about Canapino, i liked the Agrospray liver a lot, this one not so much.

About the STC2000 name, "fans" don't like the "super" and neither the Levys aparently, maybe they'll bring back the old TC2000 Light name for the smaller series

Super TC2000 to TC 2000

So, the Levys confirmed the name chance from Super TC2000 to TC2000
The current TC2000, in consequence will change its name to TC2000 Series, which is on brand with the TR Series, and also stupid, never understood the "series" moniker to smaller series (or the "pista" on te ACTC ones, but at least is less confusing)

Fans are happy, even if its just a name change.

TC2000
TC2000 Series

For me it's confusing. Why not TC2000 Junior?

If i have to guess why it's because Junior or Light (as the second tier was called once) doesn't sound like full fledged series, and that hinders the sponsorship hunt.

But, yes, its confusing, luckily they don't use the "qualifying series" format like the TC anymore, it would be weird to have "TC2000 series" and "TC2000 Series series"

They look better than the renders, except the Ford, wtf Is thst emblem?

That said, there is, at least, permision to use the branding for all the cars from the terminals, thats nice.

*Chevrolet denied using the brand twice, one to the TopRace (with the Vectra) and one to the TCPK (S10) and i think BMW did the same with TR, since the silhouette dissapeared from one season to the next.

Ok, last weekend was the first race of both Turismo Nacional and Top Race.
As is the norm, the TN race had a fair share of incidents, mostly caused by the overly agressive style of driving thats characteristic of the TN. One of them was a pileup at the first córner at the start of the race that catched champion Santero, who started from the back due to an accident and penalty on the series.
Urcera won the race with Peugeot.

On the Top Race side on a wet race Ciarrochi (Ford) won over champion Azar and Aldrighetti both with Lexus (and Reuteman ended 4th with the 2nd TGR Lexus). That said, Josito Di Palma (Fiat) was the guy of the race, showing of his experience, coming from the back to first, but quiting with engine woes.

This weekend will be the 2nd race of the TC, on Viedma, and the first of the four "specials" that make the special race tournament, that could give an extra pass for the PlayOffs.
The race will have an obligatory pitstop between laps 9 and 20 to change the two right tires (yes, weird, and yes, TC tires are weird in general).

Other things to note are the changes made to the Camrys, with a bigger spoiler and more power. A small roof deflector (as the ones on the Fords and Torinos) was tested, but not implemented

Also Pernia (Torino) will start the series from the last place regardless of his qualifying as a penalty for his accident last race, caused by his fainting after driving knowinly with a CO2 filtration on the cockpit for over 10 laps (he even asked for an ambulance for after the race well before the accident happened)
