I don't know exactly the "Nurburgring 24h" rules but I think it's a sort of GT2.

Probebly the car is build by the "24 Hour Special" rules.
(also inlcuding ex dtm cars, v8stars, and cars who are that faster then GT2's I thought.)

Nice picture on the article too, great look on an already good-looking car.

Why cant a 2006 RS Spyder be updated to a 2007 spec RS Spyder when a Courage C60 can be modded into a 2007 spec Pescarolo ?

Who would want to buy a car with a new tub and bodypanels and old suspension and electronics? The reason for the upgrades is that those teams already own said suspensions and electronics. Nobody wants to buy a 'Muletta' as a new car.

rcarr has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I would hope that Porsche could produce something more ground breaking, that illustration looks fairly tame compared what Porsche have produced in the past!

A love child bewteen the current LMP2 car, the Carrera GT and the 98 Porsche GT1 that won Le Mans, that'd be a good looking car!

It was reported several months back in Road & Track that Porsche is planning a Carrrera GT replacement. Maybe the car if to be raced in GT1 will be based on the new car. It's not likely that Porsche will try to turn a GT into a Proto. If they plan to develop a coupe for 2010 you can bet it will be completey clean sheet design prototype. The engine may be a different story.

Bumping this old thread because there's news about the belgian Carrera GT(1) project: The car was presented at a carshow in Brussels last week:
