But unfortunately it will probably be used as an "profit maker" to help fund the F1 team (which Norbert Haug stretched his budget a bit too much to make)

I am not sure about the profit center thing. Of course they wouldn't mind earning some money with it, but somehow I think this has to do with the huge TV-deal our domestic GT-Masters scored for this season: All races live, and that on Kabel1, which is a channel that probably 99% of all households with a television get for free... That package is almost as good as what DTM has, and with BMW, Porsche and Audi already being involved in the series, this has to be highly attractive for MB as well!

The end of GT3 is near...


I read somewhere this is a backup project. If DTM collapses they have this GT3 to enter GT Masters and other GT3 series.

My cable provider will no longer have Kabel1 from April 1st...
