Lotus Elise GT1s??

Whatever happened to the race Lotus Elise GT1s? Were they sold to privateers? Did any make it to the privateer market?
I see genuine race Porsche/BMW GT1s for sale. Interesting, I don't recall seeing the Lotus, Toyota, Nissan or MB GT1s being sold anywhere??

Sparky05 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Darn, I was hoping this was news on the 58 year old Elise running Sebring this year.

Illegal Maseratis and 43 year old Lotii! What a grand race it would be!

There were only two of them weren't there? I believe that was the case, maybe that was the Esprits though.
I know an American team were looking at putting an Elise into LMP GTC class of ALMS last year, but it never materialised.

Best bet would be to leave them to retire gracefully, they're what, almost a decade old now? Does anyone really think they'd be competitive???

That American team (Team Elite) ran a Lotus at Sebring last year. I'm not sure if the team still exists, as their domain name (http://www.teameliteracing.com/) expired a few days ago.

There are certainly more than two of them in existence - I remember seeing four of them race at Donington park

There already is a topic regarding this: Lotus GTP

It has been quiet lately however. Maybe ah746 can give the latest details, as he works/worked with Team Elite Racing.

I talked to one of the team principles last week. They have plans to run again, but it seems very unlikely that will happen.
