There is something irresistibly gorgeous with just about any Martini livery.....
Always loved the Veskanda in the last pic as well. Actually most Group C cars from that era were up there on my lust list |

Indeed. Whether it’s on a Lancia, Porsche, Lotus, Brabham, Alfa or Williams, you can’t help but feel like drooling

That little yellow Tiga brings back happy memories of my first Le Mans in 1985. To identify cars at night they were fitted with coloured lights and one of the two Tiga GC285s was fitted with a blue light, leaving it looking like a police car on a very high speed chase every time it came past the pits. Both were running at the flag, one classified and the other a whopping 224 laps behind the winner. You can see the family heritage going back to the Sports 2000 cars of the late 1970s !

Cant remember his name but in the mid seventies Ecosse Ford Team had a rather tall driver. They could hardly slam the door on his helmet during driver change. Hence an exploded window at some point…

Thruxton Golden Anniversary
Moving forward a generation of sports racing cars to the HSCCs Guards Trophy. The Dodd family Ginetta took a comfortable win from James Schryver's Chevron B8 although it looked anything but comfortable on the first lap !

Here's a question for you - which one of the cars shown at Oulton 2012 will be out at Brands next week, first time in on track for 4 years?!?

Who is this? Too easy for RBS, or EB I suspect.

I apologise it should have been in Isolated Fun, but I thought it so simple it was not worth separating it. I will not err again. But back to the puzzle, the answer lies in the make of car, and the order they come in and the question Who am I, is perhaps more like who was it. Cheers. |

He was wrong in his understanding of the question. We are simply looking for the name of a single driver who is associated with all of the Marques illustrated, and in the order shown. |

Ha bon, it was that simple. The answer is… RBS 'f course!
Cant be Fangio and I know you like Behra… I'll go for Hawthorn! Honestly, when RBS, GCC, EB and Holics dont answer one of your question you can guess its not complicated enough… Or too simple! |

No, no GerryMo you were right first time Mike Hawthorn, you and Cheddars (by PM) both had it figured.
Mike started his career driving a Riley Imp, before springing to fame in 1952 driving Bob Chase's Cooper Bristol, he was signed by Ferrari in 1953. Won Le Mans in 1955 for Jaguar. 1956 drove for BRM, before going back to Ferrari 1957. Thus all of the cars in the order he drove them. |

Thruxton Golden Anniversary
The Historic Formula Ford races at the Golden Anniversary meeting were a reminder of what great racing Thruxton provides with great slipstreaming racing all down the field. Both races saw seven or eight cars battling for the lead with Ben Mitchell (24) taking Marcus Pye's Merlyn to a double victory with Richard Tarling (1), Maxim Bartell (4) and Cameron Jackson (7) claiming podiums.
