Well like I said in the last page motorbase uploaded their polar bear gif to their twitter and facebook accounts today and an announcement has followed the last two times they've done so, so I'm expecting this to be true

Nice, 100% the 'new' focus and that's great to see. But I suspect that this isn't the full driver/sponsor reveal.

So it begs the question, how many mk4s are they building, what with Ollie Jacksons statement about being in an RS. Or was that a typo in the release.?

Can only assume a typo on Jacksons release, and again on this release. It says on BTCC.net it is modelled on the mk4 RS, then Bartrum is quoted as saying it is a Mk4 ST.

Bit of proof reading needed!

Worth noting though the cars have been painted in their new colours, which is clearly red. Sticks with the Vodafone theory?

The standard colour of a focus ST is 'Race Red'. Perhaps that just happens to be the colour of the shells delivered, and they haven't started to apply the livery yet?

The article mentions the cars have come back painted. Would be odd to paint them the wrong colour to your main sponsor, saves wrapping costs.

I would seriously doubt ANY BTCC new build is in original supplied paint! First job is to acid/ blast strip the shell.....basic stuff

Agreed. Just pointing out that assumptions are being made about the sponsor when we don't know for certain whether the picture was taken before or after the shell was painted in the colour required by Motorbase.

Agreed. But the shell will leave the factory with a paint applied.
Dynamics receive their Honda shells as BIW. This shell may have been delivered as BIW.

In the article, DB refers to the Mk4 chassis as being suited to NGTC, but all of that is stripped out anyway to fit the NGTC chassis.

Because Motorbase are still waiting to reveal 3rd driver and sponsor, has it been considered that releasing images of the shell in red might be a bluff?

That shell is clearly had all of it's bodywork & chassis work completed. As has already been mentioned, one of the first steps in prepping a new shell will be to acid dip it - so no factory paint left on there. The red we see is what will be the base for the final livery.
