Ok I got this last night. First impressions:
*DRS/KERS is MEGA fun. Takes a moment to get used to, though. Started off at Silverstone in the Red Bull. Using the DRS in Qualy is fun. To answer a question, you can simply just hit Triangle/Y and it'll activate, then de-active under breaking. You can also hit Triangle/Y once again if you wish to de-active the DRS earlier than your breaking zone. KERS is handy coming out of corners if you make a small error. *Handling is very different. You can feel the suspension more. You'll be shocked how heavy the car feels at first, then as soon as you use a Red Bull for example, the 'purchase' on the initial turn in in huge. It feels very easy to turn in, and you'll sometimes be punished for over-correcting. *Some corners that were flat out, now arn't. Blanchimont feels strange. The car skates out slightly round it, as well as the 130R. Make of this what you will. *Damage is marginally improved, but not worth talking about too much. There's more 'parts' that fly off which is good, but the cars are still far too stiff on impact. *Split-screen was cool. Me and a friend only did non-AI, but we did wet at Montreal and it worked great. Obviously marginally slower than single player, but still good! *Graphics have definitely been improved. Just seem less ropey and more crisp. *Still has the 'freeze' problem. You'll be halfway through a corner and suddenly it'll freeze for half a second, and continue. Very, very frustrating. Havn't started the career yet, but i'm sure I will tonight. Any questions, please ask! Selby |

DRS is great. They've botched the Eau Rouge bit though. Had a monster accident in a HRT because the DRS didn't automatically close, which I was told it would..? Selby |

Im loving this but the flat out corners are now knowhere near, go try Turkey for example, that Turn 8 4 apex left hander or whatever it is, is miles away from flat out................ keep losing the rear end!!
DRS deactivates with a touch on the brakes or hit the activate button again, if ur just lifting off with it activated its not gonna close Safety car works great, had that in race 1 @ Melbourne |

Has anyone found some good wheel settings yet?
I tried with the default settings for the 360 wheel and they did not feel right. |

A mate has got the PS3 and X360 version and he says it feels like the 360 version is broken compared to the handling on 360. To solve the problem for now, put your suspension settings on 11-11. I've done it and can now take turn 10 flat with an exit speed of 169mph where before I could only creep around at 135mph |

Im enjoying it. I have DRS as "R1" and KERS "R2". As mentioned above it was quite hard to get used to but fun once you get it. THeres alot to do in a lap and i find the racing is very fun. In melbourne on my career mode i was in a Force india and pushed as hard as i could to qualify 14th, just ahead of Kobayashi. In the race got up to 9th at the end of the first lap and was trying to catch massa. I went long on the primes and came out just behind Perez with whom i had a battle for the remaining 5 laps.
The AI is alot better however i think the starts are a bit too easy. In a normal GP race ive gone from 24th to 11th - 12th by the end of the first lap and yes it is on Legendary ;-p |

Still absolutely loving this, but there's a couple of things stopping me enjoying it to the full.
A bug/glitch/exploit has been found where you tweak your suspension to 11-11 stiffness and anti roll to 1-11 and the car goes like it's on rails gaining about 3 seconds a lap. Also the Vote to skip session is being abused online; Example I was in a quali session with a group of friends and a few strangers last night, one of the strangers crashed and destroyed his car, so he immediately started a vote to end the session. I called to everyone not to vote and luckily no-one did, so this guy hit vote again! I called to him and explained that if we didn't want a qualifying session we wouldn't have had one, and his excuse was "Well I crashed my car and couldn't be bothered to wait for you all to finish" ... How selfish is that? So I explained that his crash was his own fault and the rest of us shouldn't be made to cut our session short just because he "Can't be bothered" ... So he left the lobby ... GOOD RIDDANCE Then at another session someone else came into the lobby and set a pole time, which wasn't actually that fast, so when he immediately got bumped to 2nd place he started a vote to end session ... again, luckily no-one voted. But this lead me to thinking what's there to stop sad people coming in to open lobbies in groups of 2 or 3 who go straight out set a time and vote to skip just to nab pole from those of us who are trying to qualify properly? Those two things have lead to me avoiding the open lobbies online. A patch is in already for Microsoft approval and PS3 has already been patched so I think the 11-11 bug is about to be fixed. I posted about the "Vote to Skip" 'feature' on Codies forums and it's been picked up by one of the devs, so hopefully that'll be fixed soon. Once they're fixed I'll look forward to some great online races, but until then I'm really enjoying the Co-op championship and the Career. |

I don't think the patch with Microsoft for approval will fix the 11-11 bug. This patch will contain fixes for bugs found between going 'Gold' and the games release.
Hopefully a following patch will fix all the things that have been found since the games release. I think the game is great. The AI, whilst not perfect, is vastly improved from last year. They need to be faster in the first corner for example, and AI lapping AI cars can be interesting! I am playing my career with professional AI difficulty level. I can't get the correct difficulty level at the moment. In qualifying I can be 1.5secs ahead of the field and then come the race they are slightly faster. Then at Monaco I was on pole by 1.5secs and 3secs per lap faster in the race. I turned tyre wear off as at the start of the season the AI's tyres seemed to last a lot longer than mine. I'm unsure of the settings I should use. I want a challenge but I want to be able to pass as well. I enjoy the Time Attack mode, I think for F1 2012 they should add more of them. I've got all the Gold Medals. I turned the ghost car off but in the wet you can see the spray still! Another little bug. The bugs that are present however do not spoil the game in my opinion. 9/10 for me. |

Enjoying the game a lot but the way penalties are dished out is really poor (worse than in real life!). I got a penalty when someone rashly tried to overtake me far too late and hit my rear wing. I just turned in normally (no - this is not a Felipe Massa situation; believe me) and got a time penalty.
You also get penalties for illegal blocking far too easily when you get caught up in an incident at the start of the race and are forced to slow down. This makes me think I'm going to have to turn off penalties because it's unreliable enough to easily ruin your championship. |

Just won by first race on Expert Mode, the Indian Grand Prix. Haven't even tried the other difficulty settings yet. I found I'd suddenly improved a lot when I went back to using the control pad this morning after finding my cheap steering wheel and pedals a challenge last night.
