Patrick B should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rolex: Champions Weekend Entry list.

http://www.grandamerican.com/race_re...w_entry55.html

Up to 10 DP's allready and the Chase DP is still a possibilty.

I don't think that will happen. Im confident one of the DP's will run in the 1.48's or low 1.49's during qualifying.

That won't matter, if it does happen they will just be relegated to the middle of the pack like the corvette did at the rolex. In grand am if it can't be done on the track then its done with monkeying with the rules. Like it or not, kind of hard to say "that ain't so'.

Shouldn't these GrandAm posts be moved somewhere else? This is the sportscar racing section, and GrandAm isn't sportscar racing, rather road racing.

???

So Ferrari 360s and Porsches are not sportscars when raced in the Grand Am?

Daytona prototypes are mid engined cars with spaceframe chassis, but they are not sportscars?

The Saleen S7R is a V8 powered, mid engined car with a spaceframe chassis and it is a sportscar?

Is a front engined Panoz LMP a sports car because it has a carbon tub chassis?

Where is the book that has all of the rules concerning what a proper sportscar is?

Sorry Kurt, it isn't my words, rather Roger E's. I'd have to find the quote again, but he did specifically state that they weren't doing sportscar racing, but road racing. If you have a disagreement with this statement, feel free to have Durham discuss it with the powers that be over there.

Given that the leader stated they weren't doing Sportscar racing, perhaps these GARRA threads should be moved somewhere else. I'm not sure where, but National and Club racing seems to be the closest fit.

The series is officially known as "Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series". I think you are getting some quotes mixed up. I don't remember Roger E. ever saying something different.

I do.

"Daytona Prototypes represent the future of road racing in America..."

Isn't sports car racing a form of road racing?

And this is a long way from Fogelhund's statement of "he did specifically state that they weren't doing sportscar racing, but road racing."

Where in that quote did Roger E. "specifically state" they are not doing sports car racing?

Are you thinking about the "traditional sports car fan" quote?
