I really doubt they can be bothered with a cd when sifting through all the applications

Nah, They'l want to find the best of the applicants they get. If that means inspecting CD Galley portfolios, then that is what'l they do.

a lot of cd's that arrive sometimes have small thumbnails on the jewel case to make it look more professional and illustrative of whats contained anyway. i send out a lot of cd's myself, so you'd certainly not overlook them when they're being sent to you. as james says...best work will always win thru.

And who you references are! I do know of one person who has had an interview scheduled, they did work for LAT for a while so they will be in with a good chance.

I applied for the job of junior photographer for Sutton a few years ago, after hearing about the job through a local photographer who went on to work there. Like someone said they ask you to identify as many motorsport personalities as possible, from drivers to team leaders and officials. I had a brief chat with Keith Sutton (and goggled at the signed Ayrton Senna print on his office wall). The upshot was that I was offered the job, but the money at the time was significantly less than £12k and I decided I couldn't afford to accept it.

With the benefit of hindsight I probably should have bitten their arm off for the job and got myself in debt for a while.

Good luck to anyone from here who's gone for it. Unfortunately I saw the advert a day too late, otherwise I might have had another crack at it myself

Likewise.

I'l just have to console myself with representing Pitpass.com at Silverstone next week. Still at least it's progress helps to bulk up the portfolio with published pics etc.

I haven't heard anything yet.

So I guess they haven't got to my application yet. Dunno if that means I'm still in the running, or if the amount of applications is so huge, they haven't even opened mine yet.

I haven't received anything back from them but it looks like they are getting through them now and it can't be long now in waiting.

My guess is if your successful and they want an interview they will contact you by phone and those people would know by now.

Congratulations. I think a point to remember here is that even if it doesn't go that well, you must be good enough for Sutton to want an interview.

As the starter of this thread I am happy to see that it has been of some use and hopefully it will find someone a job that they really enjoy!
