That's interesting. They're testing at Spa later this week, then packing up ready to go to Macau.

Arguably a bad decision, though, because the latest Mugen-Honda engine is better. It's just that there hasn't been a Checo Perez around this year to prove it.

I think Lam Pak thinks any Asian driver is good. The simple fact is there are no good Asian drivers yet. They need to come over to Europe eary and learn their race craft. All Chen and these other guys have is lots of money and hardly any talent.

My money is on Ericsson, Bianchi or Bird. But like it has been said it is very unpredictable.

I think there are some good Asian drivers (look at Kobayashi, Sato - they are pretty good) but only in Japan you have good racing series for young drivers.

The problem is, when you want to come to Europe to learn race craft, you need a lot of money... so only the guys like Nai Chia Chen have the chance to go to Europe.

What is really needed is a racing infrastructure in Asia.

The WTCC and F3 race will not be available in HD and the event is supposed to be part of their "Return to China" 10th anniversary celebration. Shame on Macau Television (TDM), they could easily buy new machines or borrow machines from HK TV companies to do it.

Now a quick question, are Couto and Avila as Macau citizens as Teixeira is Angolan?!

Both are born in Lisbon. Avila came to Macau at the age of three and started karting in Macau.
I don't know when Couto went to Macau, but he also scored his first karting championships in Macau and Hongkong.

I've always thought of Couto as Macanese, although he probably has dual nationality.

Don't forget that until the Chinese took over Macau was a Portuguese colony in the same way that Hong Kong was British. It seems a long time ago, but that's how it was when I first went out there. Most of the people had some Portuguese ancestry.

Couto competed in the F3 Macau Grand Prix six times, eventually winning it in 2000.

All is not lost, because at least there will be live timing. Just go here: http://www.mstworld.com/ and click on the Live Timing button at the top of the page.

According to my reckoning, Macau is 8 hours ahead of GMT, so they are now in the early hours of Monday morning.

not long now before this race, still no sign of a F3 TV show for us in the UK for this race, by the way this might be shown on Max Power on Sky Sports (have not got the channel anymore).

Yes, I'm sure Max Power will show it (they usually do, about 45-50 mins coverage). Hopefully it won't be too long after the event, though any excitement about watching it has obviously gone when you know the result. It's such a shame that it doesn't get live coverage when equipment for live broadcasting is already there.

The coverage of the Zandvoort Masters as shown on Max Power was recently on Motors TV, so maybe they'll show Macau too.
