BTW, there's a rumor that one privateer wants to run a Mercedes-Benz DTM car in GT500. Then again, I feel that it won't work as even for a spec Nippon Racing Engine, they won't do well much like in 2009 when a privateer run an Aston Martin in that class.

As far I know, mercedes is leaving DTM to join formula-e, so they won't develope the turbo 4L 2L as bmw and audi are developing (perhaps.... because even this is quite unclear). So even if DTM and SGT share basic aero rules, an old NA 4L V8 powered mercedes DTM would get a 120-150hp deficit compared to japanese cars. |

This journalist is stealing articles of overseas motorsport website (Autosport, Racecar Engineering, etc) and translating it and getting money in his pocket by affiliate program in Japan. |

Mercedes will never allow one of their DTM cars to race in Super GT500. It won't be competitive in any way tho.
In that case, who is paying the journalist must be paying attention to what is paying. |

The problem is that there will be a development freeze on those Inline-4 engines for the DTM side, so a Japanese privateer team will be in a disadvantage as they don't know how to tune a bespoke engine.
That applies if they brought a Mercedes-Benz DTM car in GT500. |

Latest Autosport magazine features round-table talk by GT300 driver who has GT500 experience (Hirate, Yasuda, Kobayashi).
In the article, they complains that the speed of MC car is cheat. And they also complained about no tire change strategy of MC car. In response to this article, Takeshi Tsuchiya (#25) expressed discomfort with his Twitter. https://twitter.com/TsuchiyaTakeshi/...48269093027846 |

Why do they have to ruin themselves by accusing some other team of cheating? It seems very sour grapes if you ask me. I think some should just get on with it

Um, I think that team is very salty just because the Mother Chassis cars, especially the GT86s, are stronger this year.

Exactly, it’s one of those things, but why moan about it?

The Up Garage 86 won at Okayama but both Fuji and Suzuka were won by GT3 cars, maybe Hirate should talk APR into building a mother chassis Prius!!

From a driver standpoint it would be really frustrating, because you don't have any kind of control of the situation. You can't outrun them no matter what you do, you just have to pray that the rest of the field happens to pit at the right time to get them stuck in traffic. Same issue in reverse for the guys driving the mother chassis car though.

I can understand it is frustrating, all that work for nothing. But it is what it is at the end of the day

This doesn't sound good. It's funny what people inadvertently find while look on the internet. But who knows what?

NOB Taniguchi says that he ran total 210 laps at Motegi by Yokohama's private tire test (2 days).
It includes 4 sets long stints. It seems that Yokohama is ready for Motegi round. https://ameblo.jp/nob-taniguchi/entry-12380557037.html |
