A question for the Italians
So, what's going on with the Italian GT Championship this year? I took a look at the results from round 1, and it seems there was merely one GT2-car, 3 GT3s and a whole bunch of GT-Cup-cars.
Last year there were around 8 GT2s and just as many GT3s, most of them being Ferraris. Where did they all go? Is there a better series in Italy this year where these teams are racing now? |

It's not like we can't do that here.... I mean it's kinda disgraceful for all those big shot Ferrari teams not to support their home championship!

Certainly seems as though most of the Ferraris have headed to GT Sprint. Shame when two series split up what is only 1 viable base of competitors. I'm sure other options have influenced things too, with Autorlando and GDL running in Blancpain as well, for example.

2011 seems not to be a good season for italian championships. Not only for the GT, where many teams migrate to Gt Open, Blancpain Endurance and Gt Sprint. Formala Abarth has lost 10/12 cars and even Formula 3.
