Not all about you, Boss! Hopefully the meetings will be of interest to some that read the forum but aren’t known to us. Maybe it will draw one or two to post......

And the ‘third’ thread dates back to 2011, so not exactly hot news....

Nice one. A bit of Retro TKM racing is well in keeping with this corner of Tenths.

Are you short of a Walbro carburettor? I got rid of loads and think I may still have one kicking around.

We do use those ones. Cheers for the offer. We have got enough to run the kart but a spare one would be handy.

Well I loaded up the cart as usual to do the rounds later on, I've sacked the reindeer and fitted a small block Chevy V8 so I should get round in record time this year.
On second thoughts I've decided the miserable little turds don't deserve anything so I shoved the lot over Beachy Head, we're going to have steak and chips and watch the Aussie cricket and catch up with Indycars. Bah humbug

Sounds like the start of a new tradition which I think I'll purloin for the Midgetman household.

Whether you're having turkey and all the trimmings with the family or humbugs in solitude, I hope everyone has a great couple of days off.

Ah soddit - MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Crikey, its Xmas day already.... Just a quickie to wish all in 'Historic Racing Today' at 'tenths' the very best for a Merry Christmas and a very Happy Healthy and Safe New Year.

Just to say I have really enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship shown by all in 'HRT', the accumulated wealth of knowledge of you all making it a great place to learn and to discuss our mutual love of automotive things historic... look forward to it continuing. As I think Mike said the other day, we are never too old to learn, and I have learnt a lot from you guys.

Cheers to all of you... raises a glass of red
Be thinking of you in the cooler climes as I relax by the pool! A comfortable 28C and clear skies apparently.

Home from work now, washed and changed out of work clothes until next year. I can now accept it's Christmas, so have poured myself a beer. Merry Christmas to the lot of you (yes, even you Baub!) I hope you all get everything you want, which includes good health & happiness. Enjoy the festive season however you want to. I'll echo what others have said and thank you all for the fun, discussions & education, I look forward to another chapter of tea break in the New Year.

All blooming night you get bombarded with peoples driving experience adventures which is fine i guess. Then I get "what car do you drive",when I say an 18 ton truck the look of disappointment is most funny. They then say how lucky I am to have this job.
Do you know what I guess I am.
I promised Mrs Delta I would behave that evening and be sociable which i duly did.She thanked me later and said what a pleasant evening and that our friends have invited us back for New Years Eve. Well, they can F--k off !!!!!!.
Looks like we will hit 250.000.views today. Very best wishes everyone,

Pretty sure it is but it's a real stretch for me although I've done the meeting a few times. With the mixture of bikes and cars and the lack of daylight hours it's a long trip for only a few races but always a fun event.

This suddenly popped up as a You Tube must watch suggestion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvnNd1sCHa0

F1 team managers in Escort Mexicos at Brands 1971.

Incredibly droll commentary from Graham Hill.

Well worth a little under 12 minutes of anyone's time.

IMO.

Probably should have spotted before that it was posted some years ago by Tenther Andrew Kitson.

I was there! And I've probably told the story before of how my then boss (Colin Chapman) borrowed an Escort Mexico from a local owner in order to 'acclimatise' to the car on the Hethel track. The owner was rewarded with a set of Brand Lotus wheels & new tyres.

Glad to see the season of goodwill is alive & well, Iain!

We've just returned from a very pleasant evening in Arras where our hoste celebrates her 90th birthday tomorrow. It sounds so much better in French - quatre vingt dix ans.

Absolutely tipping down with rain & strong winds, so not much chance of a white Christmas here, or even E.B's pool-side 28 degrees...

Merry Christmas!

The borrowing a car thing is mentioned, briefly, at one point in the commentary.

What did he do to the car for it to blow up just at the end of the last lap?
