COSTIN PROTOS F2

The 1967 Costin Protos F2 will be attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed from June 30 to July 1, 2011, being kindly refreshed and shipped over by it's American owner Brian Blain just for the Festival.

The Protos, constructed by Frank Costin is a piece of engineering art with a plywood stressed-skin monocoque, mathematically calculated aerodynamic shape with the cockpit semi-covered with a streamlined perspex canopy. They were driven by Pedro Rodriguez, Brian Hart, Eric Offenstadt, Rob Slotemaker, Kurt Ahrens and Vic Elford

This is the first time the Protos will be seen in public in the UK or Europe for approx. 25 years and anyone involved with construction, preparation, testing, driving and in any way with the Ron Harris Racing team of the day or has interesting story will be most welcome at Goodwood.

For those who just want to know more about the cars there will be plenty of information at the Festival.

I once owned both team cars and restored the car that will be at Goodwood with the help of ex-Cooper car builder/fitter John Gibson.

Meanwhile, I would appreciate it if anyone descibed above would contribute constructive information about the Protos and Ron Harris Racing Team to this thread. Persons wanting more information about the cars will find plenty available at Goodwood.

This is my first poston a forum so I hope I have followed correct protocol. Please do not ask me to post photos, although I expect someone will be able to!
