News (source: www.fiawtcc.com)
A field of 33 cars will make up the grid for the second race meeting of the 2006 FIA World Touring Car Championship that takes place in Magny-Cours on April 29/30.

BERU, the German company that was founded in 1912 and today is the world’s leading specialist for ignition, diesel cold start, electronics and sensorics will be partner of the event that is named WTCC BERU Race of France.

Compared to the season's opening in Monza, only two cars are missing, Jens Edman's Peugeot 407 and Jiří Janák's Alfa Romeo 156 Gta.

Roberto Colciago of SEAT Sport Italia, is due to switch from the SEAT Toledo Cupra he drove in Monza to a new SEAT León; however the Italian driver is still recovering after the thoracic trauma he suffered in a crash with Edman during the first race at Monza.

Yvan Muller (SEAT León) - +65 kg

Thats a bit hefty after only one race. He will have a hard time keeping up with the rest of the SEAT drivers at Magny. Hopefully Rydell with no weight can take a win.

alfan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Pole Position for Tarquini, 4 Seats in top 5...seems like it's not BMW's track anymore.

Fastest Alfa in P 18 - and it's not even a N-technology car (Balzan)

Good result for SEAT (6 cars in top 10). Nice 8th position for privateer Tom Coronel in the old Toledo.

Andy Priaulx, James Thompson and Yvan Mullar are dissapointing.

A dramatic result for the N.Technology Alfa's.

Depends on how you see it, differences are so increadibly small (look at p6 to 9, within a tenth) that the difference between a place can be a thousand of a second (see p2 and p3). Lots of stuff can happen in the race...

Where is Martin Haven? It seems we have Tony Delahunty's return which is a pretty bug disaster.

BTW, I heard Martin Haven was doing the British F3 for Channel 4. Is that right?

Naspetti and Marchetti will be put 10 places back on the grid because of an engine change.

Yes, it's horrible isn't it? For the duration of todays WTCC coverage I wished I was dead.

Great, however either my TV guide is rubbish, or Eurosport are rubbish, I suspect its the latter.

It says
"8:00am - LIVE second round of the WTCC Championship".
"2:15pm - Motorsport
"3:00pm - LIVE second round of the WTCC Championship".

Does anyone know if Delahunty is going to be a permanent WTCC fixture this year?

I can't take it any more, in all seriousness.
