Chewie-1990 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I'm pretty sure the BMS story is more than a rumour, though I've been wrong before...
Sebah I have heard nothing more about since it was first rumoured

Mariantic does not say anything about the BMS RS Spyders other than a possible 2008 LMS and LM 24 hour. It also does not state how many.

i covered that thing for racingworld.it a while ago...

the situation is that BMS will probably drop the AMR program at the end of the season (both GT1 and GT3) and will take on with Porsche with 2 GT2s next year... some Cup Cars in Italian Porsche Cup and maybe a RS Spyder...

the problem about the RS Spyder is money... BMS wants the official status of Porsche team both in LMS e Le Mans (as Penske)... and they want some help in terms of money from Porsche... BMS btw is still one of the best... and biggest teams in Europe and probably one of the few who has the capability to run a complex program as the LMP2 one...

At last!

The translation into English didn't work for me, but from what I could understand, the car will debut in 2008, Le Mans Series and Le Mans (subject to an invite). No mention of drivers as yet?

Good news, I was beginning wonder if I would ever get see a Spyder!!

I'm interested to see how fast the Porsche is in Europe. Hopefully the drivers are decent.

Good quote from van Merksteijn:
“The Porsche RS Spyder is a genuine race car and thus ideal for promoting our group of companies. Moreover, participating in the 1000-kilometre races and the Le Mans 24 Hours allows us to invite important customers to very special race events.”

So will Acura sell their 2007 chassis at the end of the year, or supply engines?

I would think that it would be engines that are sold first, as they have proven that it in itself is very competitive via the Lowes/Fernandez Lola chassis. And might wait until the move to P-1 to sell chassis.(?)

But food for a different thread.

Well, you can expect Van Merksteijn himself will want to be one of the drivers. Maybe Frans Verschuur will push to have son Mike in the car as well. Who could be the professional driver? Peter Kox? Mike Hezemans? Tom Coronel?

More Spyder news from DSC's 'Non-FIA GT Snippets From Spa'; a second Spyder is due to join the Le Mans Series. The team involved has yet to be been named, we can expect an announcement in early August.........

I'm guessing, incidentally, that this is the strongly rumoured BMS car, although I'm aware of two other possibles.
