Matt Neal. Your arguments are now invalid :P

it's artifical cos Neal had the soft tires and low ballast but under normal circumstances RWD are too dominant

Jordan is a BTCC champion already , you cannot be that if you're not a real pro !!

Really, the driver level in BTCC is not very high, which is why the likes of Neal and Plato are competitive year after year after year

Turk, Neal and Tordoff have all scored 29pts so far in the two races, while Collard makes do with 11. With the four of them all in the top six R3 grid, not sure there's going to be a massive winner in the points race this weekend. It's certainly now going to be difficult for Colin to make big gains as he has in the last few meetings.

May I ask, without wanting to sound sided, how you've come to that conclusion? Basically I'm asking for citations for your statement

The number of drivers who have tried to race internationally is high, but with very little success. I am not saying they are no good, but there is little real top-drawer talent in BTCC as there are few, if any, real paid drives.
The BTCC is great TV and very entertaining but isn't in any way high level motorsport |

I agree that the driving standards are not that high but that win was due to soft tyres and the front 4 falling over each other. Realistically, the FWD cars are not able to compete with RWD here.
I don't understand why they have two different drives anyway. Its not like the cars are production based now and BMW are producing front drive Road cars now. Mandate FWD and everyone will be equal and nobody can complain about balance. |

Impressive drive from Jackson. Wouldn't have been able to compete without the reverse grid and soft tyres but he did what he needed to do.
Good 4 car battle but it never really got anywhere lol. |

Two races out of three won by FWD cars - and at a 'RWD circuit'!! Surely it is time to peg back the FWDs before they ruin everything!!

Great races.
Why could they make mandatory RWD then when everyone say that RWD is better? Honda has been talking about RWD switch, Focus, A-Class, S3 and VW CC have 4WD so they can have RWD switch like Levorg. That leave Avensis and Cruze with FWD layout |

Good (fairly) clean days racing. Neal and Jackson proving that with enough talent you can beat the RWD cars in one of their happiest hunting grounds. Stunning defensive drive from Jackson in R3 and R2 was an absolutely fantastic one, I had no idea how it was going to pan out!

I think Neal got away with it again for his nudge out & spin with Morgan. The man truly is teflon.

Plato on fantastic form this weekend... Him and Turkington may find themselves on the same bit of track again over the last three rounds I suspect. Tasty.

Just re-watched R2 by the way, what a fantastic drive from him. Obviously the soft tyre helped, but he was driving the wheels off that car - I can't believe how late he braked, that Honda is unbelievable on the anchors! |

Always has been since they built the Integra, strong braking and a good turn-in have been their traits.
I have a feeling Neal and Tordoff will be the two title contenders going into the final round, their consistency is to be applauded. |

Collard, Shedden and Tuks aren't out of it either and come to think of Jackson is now 5th and his Focus is really fast on the straights so who knows
maybe Dynamics bring out a secret weapon for the final rounds , could they switch to TOCA engine ? as Eurotech is already running it should be easy and seeing the speed traps figures the Eurotech cars look to be ahead and speaking about Eurotech ever since they lost Daniel Lloyd they seem totally impotent on track... Managed to watch the races on the ITV site this morning, would be better though if the freeze frame before you press play is a freeze frame race
It would have been naive to think Plato wouldn't win a race and he took the opportunity, but he's now gonna have something for the first time this year. Qualifying ballest, which means it won't so easy Less silly driving this weekend, although there was Neal's assualt on Morgan, Plato possibly brake testing his teammate and Collard keeping his foot in in R3, shame because he did another Soperesque drive thru the field in R2, but he still has the red mist about him, which shows he is not got the mental approach to be champion. Tordoff OTOH, showed the savvy he needs to be champ, with three big points finishes to put the Snetterton disappointment behind him. What has he got to do though to get another win this year. Turkington again showed how to be aggresive but fair, with some decisive moves, which as Tim Harvey said sets a good example to youngsters. Tingram seemed too much of a soft touch in battle Neal again showed his class in R2, showing age is no barrier and BTCC stalwarts Austin and Newsham again showed their class at Knockhill MG have been nowhere since the summer break. Either the car's past it or the lack of an experienced driver has stalled development |

anyone think that Jackson's defence was very similar to Giovanardi's one back in 2006 at same track were he got his first win and Bauxhall's 100th at same time?
