morninggents should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
This event seems to have missed being discussed, probably because of Goodwood's members meeting over the same weekend.

I went to Silverstone yesterday and had a really good day out with warmish weather from late morning after a drizzly start to the day and a decent amount of spectators around. Most girds had reasonable numbers in the high teens to high twenties though the Guards Trophy event was poorly supported. A good number of well driven Chevron B8s in the race but there were no TVR Griffiths or Cobras to take them on. The few Elans in the race were not able to stay with the Chevrons. The F3s and the FF 2000s were good to watch and, as always, the Historic Touring Cars were good value - particularly in their first race when the track was still damp.

All in all a good advert for historic club racing.

Just seen Belmondo's photos in Baub's Picture Show thread of a couple of cars from the Guards or Historic Road Sports events. Looks like they were taken in the practice sessions earlier in the day.

Was the BRDC grandstand open to the public this year?

There were quite a few spectators in it on Saturday - unsure whether it was general public though

Yes, it was. I watched most of the races from there.

I was told the grandstand on the outside of Copse was also open.

A few of the FJ race on Saturday, when the weather was much better.

I'll post a few more here and on bauble's thread later.

Sunday HTC qual was rather moist, leading to unexpected moments.

Love the Lola 140 in Post 18 No2. Sounded great as well. Driven by a talent not often seen on a circuit but driven extremely well.

Alex confused a number of people by having a novice cross in a race which I'm told required an international licence.
