Dragger has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Airless Tires

I've been seeing R&D on this for over a decade now, it's nice to see military tech expand and finally seeing them go into production for ATV's. It's interesting and I'm looking fwd to seeing car applications down the road.

They are an interesting development, in high speed applications how do they damp the standing wave and resonance that will build up in the new compression structure? Fatiguing of this constantly flexing layer would lead to break down and make it highly unlikely that you would just be replacing the outside tread skin!

This was also an interesting lead in your article Dragger:

Quieter is always good!

Has anyone seen or used these run silent tyres?

This looks damn awful, how do you get to legislate narrow rims?

The technology isnt that much removed from forklift solid tyres, evolved to include the potential for the tyre sidewalls to be absorbent of the surface conditions.

Michelin has been using them on their golf carts at the track for a couple of years now. Pretty cool stuff.

I think they have some potential in certain applications but at higher speeds on paved roads the technology has a long way to go to make it useful for passenger cars.
