Somebody sit Gaz down and take his temperature - I've never heard him so positive about an F3 season in January before...!

So, the 'death' of BF3 that I seem to recall people talking about does not seem to be happening? Last edited by Nina; 21 Jan 2005 at 15:16. |

You trying to say I'm a trouble causer Nines!?...You'd probably be right! Good to see some of my old friends have missed me! Talking of old friends where's F3Lollipops these days? Sure she's more than happy to hear I'm back
Anyway, back on topic! It seems BF3 has been revived, the adding of the National Class and the fact that the series will race on several GP circuits this year seem to have given it another lease of life! When the manufacturers start pulling out of F1 in the near future and the effects start to ripple down the system I'm sure I know which series (Euroseries, BF3) is more likely to survive..... Not making any accusations Gaz, merely that your posts are always fun to read
This revival... hmmm.. It remains to be seen, surely there will still be the problem of gate numbers and how to get more people to turn up at the meetings (the ones that have to pay to watch!) |

I'm going to most of the races, I hope.
(I hope = everytime my dad says we'll do something, it never happens!!) I think Dirani's going to Hi-tech, well from what he hinted, I think he is. Whoa, lucky thing I didn't by a Carlin top and cap then |

With f3 not visiting any MV tracks i will probably only see it at Donney. With all these "fly-away" races i cant see gate numbers increasing significantly.

it depends, remember f3's supporting a reasonably big series. the crowd at spa was pretty big, so the races abroad will probably attract some decent numbers of spectators.
plus, spa let girls into the track for free. i've said it before and i'll say it again - it's promotions like this that the uk tracks need to look at seriously to modernise itself. particularly the girls free thing. it might not work here though, kids free would need to be the offer for things like btcc unless f3 is redirected to appeal to a different crowd. |

I'm not sure a different pricing structure on sex lines would be allowed.
Hang on, I've made that sound like some complaint about dodgy telephone services. |

I think ticket prices were very good for the British F3 last year...generally a tenner for race day, and 18 quid for the weekend with the LMES...I think this was the best value package in the UK last yr, especially when you consider the quality of the support races, much better than 25 quid plus for the BTCC. The DTM does family tickets which are quite good though.
All in all, it looks a very promising season, looking forward to Donnington and april. |

Thanks for posting the list mate.
What is Ivy in Carlin Motorsport name? Japanese sponsor? I'm surprised to see my friend Karl Riendler in provisional place for Menu Motorsport's second seat. Anyway, I'm sure that Mike Baker and his boys will do a nice job with Aussie champ. |

IVY is a cosmetics company.
They supported Keiko Ihara in Formula Dream last year. I think Koji Shirogane is something relationship with Ivy cosmetics. Because its president is Akira Shirogene. |

Although nothing has been announced, I reckon you can add Susie Stoddart and Jonathan Kennard to that list, perhaps both with ADR. And there are a few more National Class announcements to come.
It's looking very interesting, especially when you remember that all the teams will be running different cars from the ones they had last year. |
