Good to see that Ford Aus are still working with some purpose now, keeping people here in work now we have no Fords manufactured being or built locally nowadays. (Falcon etc) All the manufacturing is off-shore now, Everyone here now either buys a cab type truck or an SUV of assorted sizes as their main family car.. |

Pricing is the only issue. I have looked at mid-sized trucks both times I have shopped for new trucks but the value hasn't been there. For 10-12% more, you can usually buy an equally equipped half ton that is still more capable than this "HD Ranger". But to anyone that knows the American Ranger, the payload and GVWR just doesn't matter. They have quite the reputation here. Please excuse the language (NSFW) but this is the meme here: https://www.instagram.com/fordranger...U6uuyGo/?hl=en |

Seeing that the rear ride height is at its normal position makes me think that the three axle trailer is perfectly balanced.

The way our stupid eurocrats are going with the planned shutdown of ICE production we could well end up driving american cars or Chinese EV's! Hopefully the Germans will put up resistance.

Meanwhile in Uruguay, the bestelling vehicles are the Fiat Strada and Chevrolet Montana, which are subcompact pickups with 100-130 hp engines.

Yup, back when the true HD line was split from "regular trucks" and 3500s were harder to find. GM did 1500 and 2500 on the same chassis design, Dodge was even more identical parts, Ford was slightly different. GM continued it a bit with the GMT800s making the "heavy duty" option pack on the 1500 and 2500, was more like the heavy half Nissan XD. The CAFE numbers really really hurt the shared platforms and created the new 2500/3500 shared platforms. It also meant the half tons got "lighter" for a bit and rode a ton better. Then CAFE came for the HDs too, that's why they're grotesquely massive. **** poor frontal area and you get to have a loophole in the economy standards. This is what would likely hurt a heavy-mid now without heavy hybrid system. It also killed the last real heavy mid with the Dakota Magnums, plus as mentioned they were only low hundreds less than a half ton but smaller cab and capacity. The Ram 1200 is their spiritual successor and what's been rumored as coming to the US, along with the Rampage for years. The rampage has a better chance but doubt either one. Maverick sales were great but slowing and lots of fleet buying needed to maintain the growth. But better than F series and Rangers. And Ford could make them in country I believe

Sorry built in Mexico but exempted from the tariffs that kill other trucks. Plus same chassis as the Escape and Bronco Sport. FYI the current Escape has convinced me that Ford really really really doesn't care about quality. Have 4 2020s in our office and every one has spent a long time in the shop for fuel system issues in the 3 cylinder time bombs.

When its a company truck don't you have a special service supplied by the local dealer? Like replacement vehicle or warranty extension?
