Janspeed Lexus confirmed for ETCC
Yesterday, Janspeed Lexus boys were at Estoril Padock. They will enter two Lexus IS200 next season to attack 2004 season with more cars.

I don't think it does, they may be the former TMSR cars but that's the only connection. Janspeed are a more seriously funded outfit, and ETCC is cheaper and much more feasible for this type fo outfit.

So is it a factory backed campaign? It'll only happen that way!

I meant that the ETCC is cheaper than BTC-T, but if its a factory campaign I suppose that's not the isse, but its a shame Lexus didn't step in to help TMSR (maybe they just know a loser outfit when they see one!)

The ETCC is cheaper thant he BTC-T?? Really? I thought it was the other way around? Doesn't the BTCC have more control/shared parts than the ETCC cars? I was thinking since the ETCC rules are more freer, the costs would be higher.

Costs to build and run the cars are the same. Manufacturers can spread the cost over the 10 countries unlike Britain. If you could do the same wouldnt that make financial sense?

ETCC is an international championship and BTCC is a national championship so It's easy to understand Why BTCC is a fair bit cheaper....

I recall offending some people a while back by suggesting that someone (BTCC??) should just do the gentlemanly thing and just use the other's (ETCC) rules? Though of course, nothing stops the ETCC from using the BTCC rules. This way, perhaps we can pave the way again to create an international set of rules like ST was!

What ???? True the ETCC's Super 2000 rules used SuperProduction as a starting point but to say they are effectively the same thing is crazy.

Give the cars more BHP (just increase the engine cc) and i'm sure the ETCC would be miles better than the BTCC, just my opinion.

Will the IS200's be raced under the Lexus or Toyota brand in the ETCC? I don't think they sell Lexus' in the Europe mainland?
