racing and drifting are different- i have a nissan s14 for my track days and i prefer not to drift, it is slower in lap times. drifting cannot be measured or "scored" as a race is, it is like figure skating, drag racing is a measure of time and speed over a 1/4 mile time, scientific repeatable and quantifiable, as is circuit and oval racing, drifting is neither- hence it is not racing simply showmanship and a spectacular fun event to watch, but never racing.

I think the road car forum may be more appropriate

Looks like a cross between Autotesting, ice racing and Stock Hatches!
I suspect they would be better off rally driving? Or racing supermarket trollies. |

the kits by cwest do come out of wind tunnel plus there designed to so as you drft air is taken into the motor to cool it.the wings well hey, thats the style there not reguired but. hey this a hell of a lot more fun, then any other racing series to watch. plus at irwindale, the final battle was run three times at the REQUEST of the FANS. when was the last the last time a race was lenghted because of great battle. Yeah its judged big deal thats what everybody whos against drfting says .its old I've heard for too long and its a bad argument so get over it.

NSXR-the problem here is battle in racing is over when the checker drops regardless of the 'fans' request-the race is over, and a winner is found. I like drifting- it isn't real racing it is a show, there is nothing to 'get over.'
it will be the introduction to many to what a race is. a competition over a distance set against time. not a dance and a spin and near misses and driver out tyre smoking eeach other, and do it again because we like-event. I like drifting but don't get so emotional and defensive, welcome to the Racing world, but take a look at speedtouring car, BTCC, LeMans, ALMS, CART, Gran-Am, Trans-Am,FIA GT even IRL and compare that with drfiting. the issue here is a person (not NSXR personally) who never raced or races cannot see the challenge or skill involved in holding a car on the razors edge and real racing (or as it is known among drifters-Grip Racing vs. Drift Style Racing.) it doesn't look hard on TV to not spin a champ car on a road course, or drive a Corvette really fast, but to slide a car and make it go perpendicular to the racing line and enter the corner an hit the apex sideways and leave the corner on the right line all while spnning the tyres and squealing- the talent of car control is evident, not so mysterious to the casual observer- in short it is spectacular to watch and do on film and camera and by the seat of your pants. It is not nor ever will be real Racing, road, circuit, street course, or oval-and as it being a FAD? no it is a sport, a spectator sport like figure skating-it takes skill but it isn't racing, like speed skating is to figure, but if you want drifting in real racing look at World of Outlaws(winged sprints- or even sprint cars and USAC dirt ovals, and Extreme DIRT car racing- the fastest way around a dirt track is to slide the least, but sliding is the only way to drive the cars in DIRT) can we give ths a rest, I feel more needs to be learned and experienced by many 'would be drift-racers' confusing the issues. and as far as my opinion goes, i have done both and i liek proper grip racing in my S14 Nissan sylvia, it is way more fun trust me. |

NSXR I reckon that it looks fantastic - They have a motor so it must be a motorsport. Great to watch.
