I may be wrong, but as I understand it the 98 is now the 51.

Yes Tony's car will run as the #98 and #51 this year.
Yes Tony knows as did Phil Weaver with the #46 (of which we breathed life back into and was then worth selling to Kieth which in turn allowed you Kelvin to crash it ) Tony and Kieran have spoken and allowed us to get working on the car. see www.revolutionracing.co.uk for news or more upto date is the facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Rev...ng/32072515745 it is not possible for us to do all the rounds this year but we will endevour to get to as many as we can in order to support the ELMS. Cheers Duane |

Also thought the chicane exit curbs look different, and given their shape wondered if it is these that have put the end to oval racing in an anti-clockwise direction? |

What`s on with the Late Models at Venray this weekend.
Anyone been to the track as a spectator, is it worth a trip? |

Thank you, Stephen. It is a very sad time for everyone in the series. It would have been his birthday today.
I wish he had got to race on the Venray track that he worked so hard for us to get. |

What has happened to this years calendar?
The series website show no visits to Warneton? Though the Warneton website still show late models in their fixture list. Also I thought I saw the series was coming to Lydden for the Truck/ioval event on the 15th and 16th of June, but Lydden is no longer showing on the series website? |

The series is undergoing a bit of a "transition". There has been disagreements amongst several parties and currently has split in two.
The Warneton events are run by Camso and the Venray events are part of the Late Model V8 SuperCup. We are still racing and had two days of racing at Warneton in Easter. Lydden Hill is still on. We are going on the 15th/16th June as part of the truck festival. It is run as part of the Camso V8 Series and hence doesn't show on the latemodel.eu website. As to Ipswich, it's currently down as a LMV8SC round. Hopefully we'll still be able to get there. What will happen in the future? No idea. This year has been chaotic and crazy. And that was before we even got on track. |

So are the so old days of thunder/ascar cars still running in the Casmo V8 series? and are camso cars still running in the Late Model V8 series? And are drivers allowed to race in either series? What are the grids of cars like? |

How very annoying, I'm tempted to go and see if I can help get everyone working together. Politics like this are what have crippled this kind of racing over the years.

It's pretty much same rules as before. Both Camso Late Models and ASCARs are welcome in both series. I don't there are enough cars active for each series to kick the others out.
Grid's have been hurt as there were only 10 entries for the first weekend. That was made worse when one entry failed to show (due to delayed flights) and that was compounded with an engine fault in an ASCAR and one car had a big hit into the wall. Some is people staying away whilst the politics play out. Drivers can race in both series. We're all hoping that some agreement can be reached but at the moment the Camso V8 will continue as before so we will have somewhere to keep racing. Hoping for more news in the next few weeks. And if anyone wants to come into the series there are several cars available for hire! |

Fingers crossed whatever the issues are, get resolved and there is a united series once more racing at all the tracks they once visited.
Glad the cars are still planning to race in the UK at Lydden, and hopefully Foxhall Heath |

I'd be really disappointed if we don't get to Foxhall Heath this year. It's my local track (only about 30 minutes away) and we got a good turnout there. Plus I got my first win in the opening heat!

Quick update following this weekend's meeting at Warneton:
The atmosphere in the paddock was far more positive than Easter. There were two new drivers testing cars with one joining the races on Sunday. RCD had a "new" driver return to the series after some years away. Plus we were joined by a couple of the dutch drivers who hadn't raced at Easter. Also, there were discussion between circuit owners and representatives to work towards maintaining a single series. Hopefully we are making progress and sorting out the issues that have clouded the series over the last couple of months. |

Well at least it's looking a bit more positive than it was a couple of months back - hope things continue to improve and common sense prevails!

Have we sadly lost this meeting? I thought I saw an August fixture earlier in the year, but now cannot find any mention of either CAMSO or ELMS on Spedeworths August Ipswich Fixtures.

The Ipswich meeting is Saturday, September 14th; a month later than last year.
Currently on the summer break now, next race for late models is August 17th-18th at Raceway Venray (stock car world cup meeting). |
