All of this is nice stuff, but what has it got to do with Volvo joining the V8SUpercar series in 2014?

Are you saying 97 was not the biggest one ever. Thats a joke. Fans worked it all by themselves because your mob was trying to hold the event and was creating distractions. the series even had a new tv station, fans still worked it out, because they are not stupid

Look we know that that if the future manufacturer that enters does not have a v8 and the series has to change from a v8 series and thus a series name that does not include v8s that there will be some sort of marketing that happens. But its not a complicated. because the fans are smart enough.

Apparantly though this discusion belongs over in 6th manufacturer though because mid conversation an actual 5th manufacturer (3 more than you said would happen DRT) has turned up. so i will leave the topic knowing that V8 fans are smarter than the ARDC.

Almost certain that if a manufacture wanted to play that lacked a V8, the series would allow them to run a purpose built V8 motor.

Its entirely possible, whether that is now or in a few years time... all dependent on how many extra cars the Volvoites managed to unload and attribute to the new motorsport involvement...

Do HSV own a REC? thought it was in Tom's name (thus Ryans?)

However are Polestar owned by Volvo, or are they a separate company?

edit going by their website they are not owned by Volvo, but a collaboration with Volvo

Doesnt matter who buys the REC, hopefully they have the funding to take it to the top teams and make the racing more exciting

This series has a rich history of 2-door cars competing and winning, the Mustang included (it was a pair of Mustang's that did the bulk of the work the last time someone won this series five times in six years)

A Mustang is also much more likely to stir the fans interest than a tarted up Mondeo.
