Tgf's dominance must be hurting F1, but that report doesn't mention the fact that last year there was no sky digital service! I don't suppose that sky digital took all those viewers away from ITV but it must contribute!

With all due respect, is today "Stupid Thread Day"? This is the 3rd silly thread I've read in a row.

How does this prove Michael's dominance is hurting F1? (apart from the opinion of the obviously unbias writer) Who would have thought that after a championship was decided people would be less interested? I'm stunned!

When any team or driver is so dominant, the racing is going to become less thrilling, and obviously less people will tune in.

What annoys me about this thread is that it blames Michael for dominating F1.

How about renaming the thread one of these:

McLaren & Williams inability to perform is hurting F1.

or

Montoya's inability to turn a pole into a win is hurting F1.

No, it doesn't blame TGF for dominating F1. What it does is blame Ferrari for fixing the races, which is what some of us have been saying since last season.

People don't bother to tune into a race that they know has been pre-determined, or at least most people apparently don't.

You may believe this is "stupid" of us, but frankly my dear ...

Here's a quote from Ayrton Senna, waaaaaaay back in 1992:

"The machines have taken away tje character, and its character that the sponsors and public are looking for".

If only more people had listened back then. And that was during a time when the racing was still top notch.

Senna also made a good point in the same year, which for me, is what separates him most from modern drivers and really sums up the end of an era when the drivers were the key:

"I want to be challenged by my own limits against somebody else's limits, by someone who is skin and bone and where the difference is between brain and experiance and adaptation to the circuit, not challenged by someone else's computer".

One thing that makes me laugth with this article is how the BBC proudly state that all of the F1 fans switched over to watch their CART coverage..... what all 25 minutes of it??

I personally can't stand F1 anymore... its boring, predictable and at times an embarrasing Farse... Compared to the wealth of other motorsport that is now televised with Real racing, its rather like the old doddery aunt that is wheeled out of the oap home for sunday lunch, who reminises about 'the good old days' and farts loudly when everyone is about to tuck into desert's...

Everyone respects it... but no one is really interseted or understands it...

But for the BBC to compare what they rather embarrasingly call coverage, of CART to ITV's live F1 package is a bit rich in my opinion.... However, they have got a point about people watching the race... I only ever watch the start to see if there are any pile ups at the first corner, and then switch off... And I use to treat F1 as a religion....

Not anymore.... the F1 glory days are long gone...

To say that Montoya should be sacked and replaced by Villeneuve is absurd.

Thers has been a lot of unfair Montoya bushing recently saying that it is his fault that Ferrari are winning everything. Yet he is the the highest place non-ferrari driver in the championship.

If he is doing such a poor job then why is no one doing better?

Here's an interesting point:

Even the INVISIBLE RACING LEAGUE produces better racing than F1 at the moment. Now THAT is scary!!!

Actually I couldn't be bothered to read the entire thread, but actually a guy "Williams FW14" did not say to sack Montoya; I actually noticed a question mark there, as in "It is time?"

Anyway, I appologize for the attempt to hijack the thread. MGF, did they really say that "all the fans switched to CART"? "All" of them? And I believe that I've noticed a thread like "Half of the seats at Rockingham empty!!" in the CART forum just a couple of days ago......
