LucaBadoer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Another great start for Jos the boss????

Jos Verstappen has finished 5th in todays US GP warm-up session. I can't wait to see his race - I'm sure he'll give Murray something to shout about!

Valve Bounce has been held in scrutiny for further testing
I think it was Martin who mentioned that Jos overtook many cars again today, and thathe has a phenomenal number of passes during this year. When will he get a decent ride? OK, so he was lucky to be back in F1, and landed a ride with Tom Walkinshaw - but why can't his ability be recognised and some top team give him a ride?

Er...didn't that happen about 7 years ago? I seem to recall him driving a Benetton...

If they put him in a top team how would he make up so many places at the start and earn praise from all quarters?!?

Just one question, how many times in 16 races has he finished in the points?

he has only one point, BUT it could have been more(Canada), the Asiatech makes it virtualy impossible to maintain his position.(Asiatech 780 BHP- Cosworth 840 BHP)

The only reason he makes up so many places is that Arrows always run him light, on a strategy with lots of pit-stops, in the hope of getting lucky with a safety car, and on pace in waulifying Bernoldi ahs often got close to him

Jos should have a quick car next year, hopefully reliable too. This should be a better indication of what he can do. I'm not holding my breath though...

Simply because others can see a driver who is a liability to one that would benefit from a good drive, and Vestappen is only quick running into drivers about to lap him!!

Wel Guy, he did that once in his 90 race career, and did'nt Villeneuve and Barichello have simular problems with the same car?

Fair point Steve but Jos isn't really in the same league as these drivers, hes just done to many daft things in his early career not to get my vote, especially with benetton where he had a winning car but never got near TGF.

Jos got 10 points in 10 races in 94, not bad for a rookie(Button had 11 out of 17 last year).

Johnny Herbert also drove 3 races for Benetton that year, but scored NO points at all.

JJ Lehto only got 1 point that year........

I'm sure I heard one of the team, either Murray, Martin or ? say Jos had made over 80 passing manouvres this year while commentating at Indy. Anyone else hear that or was I halucinating aurally due to the early hour?

Pretty easy when your always starting from the back of the grid . I mean, it would be hard for Michael or Coultard to rack up a count like that with almost nobody in front of them.

And ah yes, the fuel loads........

Maybe, just maybe, because those in the know recognise his lack of ability. Lets face it, it's pretty easy to pass cars from the back of the grid on light fuel loads.

73 passes !!! That's about 5 passes per race. Depending where he starts, he can't be in the 10th first places !

I recall it being "James Allen in the pitlane" who brought up that fact...

Well said, Light fuel means running at the front for a short space of time which equals good media attention which equals a pointless exercise as you finish out of the points for taking on a very stupid strategy,I give you "Jos the light fuel loader"

Not to be a smart arse or anything , but 227 positions gained on lap 1 and 67 positions lost on lap 1, to me, means some idiot (probably the pace car) has lost 160 positions without anyone noticing.

I used a solar calulator, and then reverted to battery to be sure, but I think however made up, *coughs* counted these statistics probably works for Arrows.

Nope, the stats work different: when you won 6 places the first race, and lose 7 the 2nd your score would be -1

And about thos light fuel loads: Jos was on a 1 stop strategy in Indy, stil he won 6 places at the start.

Jos was on the same 2 stop strategy as Raikkonen and Alesi in Monza, stil he managed to get ahead of them at the start.

And what people keep forgetting: the Asiatech has 60-70 BHP less than a Honda,Cosworth,Ferrari or Mercedes.........
