Location of British Sportcar and GT teams

Hi,

I have browsed the FIA GT and BTGT sites but, does anybody know of any other location of the teams? Espically the ones outside of "Motorsport Valley".

Thankyou

Rich

If you look on the offical British F3 Website the contact details for all the teams are on there. But Embassy Racing are based in Ossett, which is just outside Wakefield and about 3 miles from my house.

Where abouts near Mansfield are Eclipse based? It's not a million miles from me and I've been to those areas a few times, so I'm curious...

I've been to their workshop several times. I won't give out addresses, as that's not on.

But I'm actually closer to you than I am to Eclipse. In geographical terms at least.

Balfe Motorsport are near Lincoln too.

Yes I think Balfe are Newark based. One of their sponsors, Newark Glass, is on the same small industrial estate I work on. I don't know how close the team is to there tho. I wasn't asking for the address of Eclipse, just a town or location name really! I'm not aware of any other teams in the area though. Particularly of any in Lincoln itself.

Pilbeam are not to far from Lincoln at Bourne the old BRM factory I think. There are a couple of Historic Prep teams near there as well.

Ah yes I did once hear Pilbeam were in or near Lincolnshire. Had forgotten about them actually! Was pretty keen on their LMP2 car actually, think there's now a "local" team to support in that class! So are we talking just present teams in this thread, or will it apply to teams no longer racing too?

It would have been even funnier if you had got the place correct.

Scuderia Ecosse are base in Glendevon which is near Winchburgh in West Lothian. Almost exactly 10 miles due South of Knockhill.
I don't imagine that they'll be happy that their home circuit isn't on the 2006 British GT calendar.

Eclipse are near Ollerton, near Mansfield.

Balfe Motorsport are about 10 miles from Newark and about the same from Lincoln (ish)

I'd forgotten about Pilbeam too.

I can't think of any car teams actually in Lincoln itself. Mainly drivers who run cars themselves (club racing etc)

Castrol Honda bike squad are based in Louth. But they're not sportscars...

I can't imagine too many of the teams based South of the border are unhappy. For many Europe is a lot closer...

Travel South on the A607 and you will eventually come across Balffe.

Ah but here's the snag to that agruement.

It's the British GT Championship not the European GT Championship. The last time I checked Knockhill and indeed the whole of Scotland was in fact part of Britain

Well, you won't because they're not actually on that particular road, but I see where you're coming from.
