If there's one thing I love in racing, it's a nice big field. This sounds awesome! Should be a heck of a show.

Unfortunately a big field in Macau usually also means large parts of the race behind the safetycar

or a red flag for that matter if there a track blockage, still Muller got pole for Macau Sunday race 1 and if the cars get past race 1 without damage we have Tom Coronel on pole for the 2nd and final race of the season . now a whole day for the 3 cars that caused red flags to be fix ready for warn up

All of the top, regular drivers (except, perhaps Engstler and Ng) managed to slow down. |

I hope that with new rules we won't see those 134 drivers from Macau anymore. They are just destroying the image of the championship! To go so fast under a safety car in Macau is very dangerous. Let them race on simulator instead. Do they really get some marketing benefits for the championship??? I doubt. What is the real sence of letting those amateurs race?? It's high time to give special licenses.
I don't think we should change the name of the championship. Just ban those unprofessionals for life from WTCC. Anyway, the regulars were really driving pretty good and professional (except Oriola, maybe) and there were some beatiful fights. Great job by Rob in a 9-year old SEAT. All in all, Macau was great as was the whole season! Bring us 2014!!! |

All the Macanese drivers just signed up for Macau WTCC because they knew that their asses would get handed to them in the CTM cup. In doing so, they completely ****ed up half of the race.
A world class series like WTCC needs world class drivers, and a dangerous event like Macau needs a car count cap. |

It was ridiculous and dangerous. Pretty sure the second shunt happened after the red flags had been deployed.

Sigh...
That's why my recording ran out early... Someone seriously needs to refine the driving standards because they have been going down hill this year completely. On the bright side I guess the old S2000 cars went out with a bang! |

Still, let's don't compare the driving standarts of the usual field and the field of Macanese/Chinese drivers. Though it's a problem of KSO's professionalism and standarts to let these people with no brain race in the world championship
Too bad that a lot of people now think that the whole WTCC series is pathetic... Because most fans won't care that the guys who caused the mess were guest drivers. KSO, you hear me????? Get rid of these so called "Asia Trophies bla-bla bla" |

I always wondered why there were another 10 backmarkers who showed up at Macau. what purpose is there to have these guys taking up space at a track that's already very narrow?

The Macanese drivers get 500,000 patacas (about US$60,000) for finishing the race. So somehow even though five of them qualified outside the qualification maxima (107%) they still get WTCC to allow them to start the race.
Eurico de Jesus, one of those who failed the 107% qualification, was the one who hit Tom Chilton's slowing Chevrolet and started the train of events that led to the stoppage. I suppose this is what is called "you reap what you sow". |

Glad to see Coronel ended the season with a podium, I'm very curious about his 2014 plans, if he'll find the budget for another WTCC season. Sad to see the backmarkers messing up the show, lets hope KSO learns from this...

Tom Coronel and James Thompson were both screwed out of a 1-2 finish because of those backmarkers. feel terrible for both guys.
I love the WTCC and realize it has its faults, this being one of them. I hope the new regs means none or very few of these Super 2000 backmarkers next season. |
