2010 record distance (397 laps)

Does anyone have the hour by hour positions for the 2010 race.

Basically like the data here (which is for the 2018 and 2017 races):
https://www.lemans.org/en/page/result/1420

Or at the very least the leader and laps at each hour?

I'd appreciate it if anyone has this to hand or a link - I can't find anything.

Try here. You have to click on the car and then on "Resumo Horário" to see his position hour by hour.

Very cool link!

Laps by hour for the winning #9 Audi (click then go to the classification tab to the far right):

http://lemans-history.com/mostra_eq....9&equipa_seq=0

Helpful to determine if we're on a record setting pace.

Brilliant. Thank you both

I suspect the weather might not play ball and there are SC, FCY, etc... to worry about, but who knows...

Looking back at the 2018 these charts show how quickly the laps "grew" and what the gap was to the lead car record setting pace of 2010.

The lap shows the laps of the leader, not the eventual winner, although I think that might be the same. The leader's race number is also shown.

2018 was going quite well until the 19th hour.

It should also be noted that 2010 started quite slowly with only 13 laps in the first hour.

As the lap is 3m shorter now than in 2019 (assuming 2018 and 2019 are the same) then to beat the record means an extra lap is needed. FWIW.

ohh very nice analysis. With the current cars being faster, and a different dynamics of the race the distance record could be broken. With a very green track this year (as we saw on the test), it could be a slower race at the begining, but by sunrise then the difference should be noticeable. We should have to add the prognosis of rain in part of the race, but slow zones instead safety car by accidents.

Potentially, a P2 could break the record and win the race.

How far behind were the audis when the Peugeot engines started letting go? Were they on the same lap, or did the lap counter "pause" while an Audi caught up to continue building laps toward 397?

It'll all be down to the weather and the SC, I suspect.....

I’ve just checked. There was a one lap gap.

#2 Peugeot was a lap ahead
#1 Peugeot was laps down with an alternator change. Recovered to 2nd before the failure.
#4 ORECA Peugeot was 4th and catching the 3rd place Audi when it failed

#3 Peugeot retired early with tub damage. Somehow ripped a suspension arm from the tub and couldn't be repaired.

Audi turned up the pace after the #2 failed.

I guess that they want to use more FCY rather than safety car makes it harder to achieve the record. FCY is 60 everywhere and safety car goes faster than that.

Yes, the safety cars lap faster than a car on FCY, but the start and finish procedures of FCY are shorter.
In 2010, the amount of the four safety cars periods was 1 hour 10 minutes.

Granted, if LM ends up being a crash fest like yesterday during practice was, even with dry weather, the record probably won't be in serious jeopardy.

Anyone think the record could be Toyota's if the race is clean and the rain stays away like it should?
