Come on guys, we are only a couple of weeks away from the 1st round, any rumours or surprises in store for 2015?
Supercars - Julian, Steve Hill, Harris, Horton, Grant, Anson, Mundy, Ollie, Proctor?, Scott? Pat Doran? Flaherty? |

Flaherty or maybe Doran in the Focus? Be good to see that car put to use.
Perhaps completely unrelated, but the clips of the forthcoming Top Gear rallycross episode (as discussed in this thread) include a red Mk.6 Fiesta... ...I'm curious to know whose car this is. Ex-Tommy Graham or David Binks perhaps? Likely to appear on track in 2015? |

Any news from Scotland ?? Albatec have been very quiet during the off season.
Have they 2 or 3 208's plus the 306?? As has the Doran camp.. 3 Ds3's ?? George Treacy was out in Mondello the weekend... Possible return to British Championship?? |

Nice What engine are you running in it? It did have a Duratec at one point I think and then a BMW unit. Good to see the car back in action again - got any pictures of it?

Photo courtsey of Matt Bristow The white is how I ran it at blyton at the end of last year, we didnt have time to paint it before then, but the black and green was how it was at the autosport show, and will be for the rest of the year! The engine is the r53 cooper s engine from my old white race car, about the only thing that remains of actual 'mini' - we completely rebuilt the front end of the car over the second half of last season. |

Ah yeah. That could (once again) be a very obvious answer to my question!
I do recall Godfrey's car was running a front splitter last year and I can't see that in the screen grab. Having said that, the quality of the screen grab is so poor it may not be visible: or perhaps he just decided not to fit it! New car looks great maranello48, look forward to seeing that on track this year. |

I am a keen, amateur model maker and have a large (and growing) collection of rallycross car models in 1/43 scale, and am always on the look out for interesting looking rallycross cars to build in miniature. Yours could be 'MINI'turised by the end of the season!! The cars I've built to date will be on display at Race Retro, Stoneleigh next week. Cheers, Steve |

Albatec will contest the British Rallycross Championship this year, with the 208's being driven by Andy Scott and Mark Flaherty:
http://www.thecheckeredflagt.co.uk/2015/02/albatec-racing-contest-full-british-championship-2015/ Great news for the British Championship. EDIT: Should have clicked the post button faster, beaten to it by BigNut! |

Sure these have all confirmed now:
Ollie O'Donovan - Ford Fiesta - RX Racing. Julian Godfrey - Ford Fiesta - JGE. Andy Scott - Peugeot 208 - Albatec Racing. Mark Flaherty - Peugeot 208 - Albatec Racing. Simon Horton - Subaru Impreza - Horton Racing. I think I have seen the following confirmed but I'm not 100% sure: Steve Hill - Mitsubishi Evo X. Andy Grant - Ford Focus. And the ones I haven't seen/I'm not sure on: Kevin McCann - Subaru Impreza. Steve Mundy - Ford Focus. Kevin Procter - Ford Fiesta. Colin Anson - Ford Ka. ? - Ford Focus - RX Racing. Pat Doran - ? As ever, I await correction on the above from the experts! |

Totally agree, guys.
The way that Marc took to the Peugeot 306 in the Grand Prix weekend at Croft in 2013 was very promising. That was a gift from his father for winning the RX150 Championship that year, though he didn't repeat the 'gift' at the GP weekend last October! It would be fascinating to see Marc campaign in a competitive supercar for a season - I suspect he would show his Dad the way to go, so perhaps that's the reason!? Another benefit of Marc moving to Supercars is it would also make the RX150 Championship more interesting!!!!! Cheers, Steve |

Agreed. There was some challenge to Marc from James Grint last year, but the best battles were behind Marc. |

As a side note, personally I've very excited to see more top flight cars / drivers added to the championship for 2015 (even if it does make my job even harder!), and it should be a pretty awesome year for the spectators :-) I'm sure for the first time in a few years, someone will give Julian a consistent challenge for GB1. Also, no body has mentioned Steve Harris. As the supercar drivers rep, I'm sure he will be attending all the events. I know he was possibly looking to reshell the focus at the end of 2014, anyone got any news? And I guess we will need to see what mad mark does, I know he was talking about grand plans for 2015. Also I think I spotted on FB that Christopher Evans old Astra supercar has a new owner. So will we see Chris back in action in somehow? (LDM DS3 or OOD Focus?) and will the owner of the Astra be coming to these shores? (who bought it?) Which ever way we look at it, their seems to be the indications of a healthy contingent of supercar on the british rx grid again. Si |

Yep, if all the possible cars turn out it should be a cracking year - add to that the prospect of 2 RS200's and a 6R4 in the Retros and things are looking good!
