Holden/Commodore never to win Bathurst 1000 again?

In 2013 with all cars on the grid being COtF is it possible that holden and commodore have won their last Bathurst 1000 this year?

How much of the road car still qualifies it as a Commodore?

I'd be going back before the VE, maybe as far back as when teams were still recieving complete shells to build their cars out of.

As it is, they haven't used much of the road car shell since Project Blueprint came in.

If Nissan wins at all within its 3 year contract period, I will be gobsmacked!

The Holden car homologated for CotF is a VF Commodore

As long as 888 has some of these, and shares them with their well heeled friends, I would doubt it will be Holden Commodore's last Barhurst victory..

There isn't any Nissans either........only COtFs, every car on the grid is a COtF.

Probably a fair chance of the Commodore shell being seen in victory lane at daytona as well as bathurst

Are you trying to tell me that Nissan will not win in 3 years.

Next thing you will be saying that the safety car is not used
to close the field up.

Come on of course THEY WILL win a race some how,

If a commodore badged as a chevy wins at daytona will it really be a commodore victory because it won't really have chevrolet badges made in adelaide or headlights for that matter ?

Well, yes, technically it is a fact. But it's been a fact since the introduction
of Project Blueprint. The way the cars are built now (ie: roll cage frame work
with panels applied over top) is the same as COTF. It's just now with COTF
every chassis is pretty much built to the same specs.

This is where the way the current cars are built hasn't been communicated
very well. Most people think they are still built off production chassis.

If a Toyota wins in Nascar, they still call it a Toyota win don't they???

I agree with all that you have said.........it has been interesting to watch peoples reactions, it seems that it is easier to embrace the illusion than it is to accept the reality........it's a strange and funny world.

Mr Revhead has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
So anyway, does anyone know when the last Commode/Falcon that was built from a factory shell/car won Bathurst?

I'm going to take a stab at Dick Johnsons EB or Perkins VP. But possibly Percy/Grice in a VL!

Unfortunately, the wins will still be attributed to the type of car it looks like.

People with half a clue will know what the cars are, but most will buy whatever the media report. Its not really a big deal as its been that way for over a decade.

Also, i'm 100% for requoting. Its much better than the idiots who failquote.
