I don't quite know what you mean?

They seem to have the power, and their reliability since Bahrain has been as good as anyone else (except Renault)

No real jokes about that

Considering their relatively modest resources, in comparison with the manufacturers, I would say that the current Cosworth V8 is a very impressive unit.

Indeed, in the early part of pre-season testing, the Cosworth was arguably the best V8 in F1. Obviously now, the manufacturers have been able to develop their engines at a more rapid rate, leaving the Cossy lagging behind, but it is far from being a joke.

It is still probably the most powerful engine out there, they just need to work on its reliability.

Repco is now solely a chain of spare parts stores... the part of the Repco business that made/sourced components for engines (now known as Automotive Components Limited or ACL) is a separate company...

I did actually know that - it was a sardonic question to a person deriding Cosworth F1 engines while claiming allegiance to Repco F1 engines of 28 years ago (yep they really did manage to produce a useful engine for one season)

I'm unsure what provoked this thread...

Is the Cosworth all that bad? It is acknowledged as the most powerful engine on the grid, which is good. It is packaged well. Yes, it is not as reliable as it could be, but nor is it the car crash people seem intent to label it as.

I'd have a Cossie in my car any day.

Yep, it's just time for a aimless have a go at something thread...today's victim is the Cosworth engine company.

For the lowest budget engine on the grid, they're doing great compared to those with massive budgets...Toyota for example.
