At this point, THE RACE commentary was still better. I hope the Motorsport TV folks can do something to better their commentary and fast enough to notify & update everything happens on the track.

Need to get back coverage on THE RACE YouTube channel. That was excellent.

Toyota announces that ENEOS will supply Hydrogen energy for Woven City of Toyota.
Remind that ENEOS is a main sponsor of Rookie Racing (#14) in SGT.
And the founder of Rookie Racing is Akio Toyoda (Toyota CEO).
The deep involvement of ENEOS in Woven City suggests that ENEOS is more than just a sponsor, and Rookie Racing is a special project of future Toyota car development.

It's understandable considering that Mie Prefecture got added in the State of Emergency list. Hoping for a reschedule later.

I guess it's only natural for it to line up against the Supra.

Japanese Samurai, have you read anything about a new Lexus GT3 model to replace the RC F?

RCF platform is outdated and slow anyway.

I won't be surprised if next year all RC F GT3 customers at GT300 will be switching to GR Supra GT GT300.

What I see so far, RC F GT3 customers are currently only at Japan & USA.

But on the other side, local spec GT300 cars are getting more and more.

The chassis is a compromise because its a mix of 3 different cars in Lexus lineup. If it had a dedicated chassis itd be a different story. I hope its the LC in gt3 and it comes sooner rather than later.

Its too late already. Lexus/Toyota are way too lazy to react chances and development.
Just like Lexus F models : " 5 years too late"

I never seeing importance situation from Toyota/Lexus racing on GT3 since they starting, like why use RCF? when your GT300 (pre-new regs) mostly are MR yet they never interest make MR Supercar/sportscar after MR-S too. (yea we should count R&D + production for this one)

It feels like they test the water and caught up by German force in GT3, and they just be like "ok we can only support US side then, but we should do something for GT300" and boom Supra GT300.

Oh good for her!

Anyway outside from both, is there ever talk from GTA or JAF about LMDh in Japan? like make event or something? Yea we can't expect from there Toyota or Nissan make LMDh but maybe triggering new event like old JSPC or might be they will be put that along with GT500 (ok now bit stupid) I asked this just because on LMDh feels like Asia side bit left out from the hype and thing

What is the pace of the GT500? Is it close to the LMDH?
Maybe they could allow LMH / LMDH together with the GT500, it could bring a lot of variety to the main JAF class.

I bet GT500 is faster than Hippocars (LMH) and much faster than Cheapocars (LMDh). No reason for Japanese to kill constructors' championship with marketing collaboration.

taking 2017-2020 600hp lmp2 best timelap at fuji as reference: 1.28.9

current specs dpi's are a bit faster than a 600hp lmp2

LMH are much slower than dpi's and barely faster than restricted 544hp lmp2

lmdh will be slower than dpi anyhow because of extra weight and will likely be made even slower to let them be "balanced" to LMH pace

2021 gt500 fuji pole is 1.26.4

GT500 are basically the fastest sportscars/prototypes of the planet and unless will be slowed down in future specs, will keep on being it for many years yet

I don't think they need to worry what the LMP times are, there's no real comparison. Super GT will concentrate on it's own series and not worry about any other. So it doesn't matter. Anyway we've had a good start to the season and it bodes well for the rest of the year. Exciting cars and some great racing is what we should get

Yea this why I said on my post as stupid idea, they have their own thing and again interesting to see the thing on track together.

Look alike Bob starting worried about M4 GT3 manage on hot area situation like during Summer or SEA races in future, hopefully they manage find better mechanic team too in future.

Thank you all for your answers and information.
So according to what I read, Nissan could use its future 400Z GT500 as an LMH at Le Mans and be competitive.
What about the old 2020 DTMs? Were they fast like GT500 too? Could BMW and Audi have used their M4 and RS5 DTMs instead of the LMDHs?

don't know if GT500/DTM open carbon tubs can fit LMH tech rules set, not to mention that the LMH car needs to be designed in 4:1 with several aero limitations that GT500 don't have. Need also to consider also that the 2L turbo isn't made for endurance and would be even less durable and reliable on long races if powered up to LMH 700hp (GT500 are in the range of 600-650hp, according to a higher/lower fuel flow ratio depending by success penalty).
2019-2020 dtm cars were class-one specs, GT500 from 2014 to 2019 used GTA regulamentated versions of 2013 dtm specs + 2L turbo NRE. GT500 adopted class-one specs only from 2020 introducing more specs parts like suspensions and mandatory FR layout.
Main differences between 2019-2020 dtm and nowadays GT500 is that dtm cars had development freeze and sport regs. like mandatory ride height, DRS, push to pass etc.. while GT500 cars despite using same class-one specs have still some little aero development freedom but no DRS or push to pass.
Of course the main and biggest difference is that dtm used crap hankook spec tires while in GT500 tires development is free with michelin, bridgestone, dunlop and yokohama supplying different confidential compounds to each team.
In general, GT500 are generally faster than 2019-2020 dtm but as shown in exhibition races, when both kind of cars are equipped with hankook tires, are basically in the same performance window... maybe dtm teams were a bit better because had more experience with hankook set-ups and because, generally, european (or european raised) drivers are more prepared than japanese drivers who never competed outside domestic series.
