Alfie Moon should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Drivers who started in banger racing

I was looking through Paul Morris' site and noticed that he had begun his career in banger racing.

I was wondering if there were anymore cases of this in the V8 Supercar series?

I could name a few that have cars that look like a banger at the end of a race

I think you'll find Jim Richards did a lot of dirt track racing in his early days in NZ..... along with racing Imps, Anglias, Escorts and just about anything else on tarmac.

well nothing to do with oz racing at all , but I think ex Formula one driver Martin Brundle also started out in some form of dirt track racing , or at least did plenty of it in his younger days, proving that this form of the sport can produce some very good drivers.

Sadly he left Banger racing, where he should have finished his career.

John Harvey started out driving speedway midgets. i also think that Jack Brabam(spelling?) may have had some speedway and/or rallying experience as well.

'Black Jack' definitely started out in speedway racing. From what I've read, sadly not too many people were able to walk away from speedway racing around that time with all their faculties intact...

That's certainly true. When you think of Jack's time in F1, he was lucky to survive at all wasn't he.
