As an employer or manager you have to temper yourself, and especially with young employees you have to support people outwardly even if they make a mistake.

So yep putting it in the wall on a warm up lap is stupid, and unnecessary and put the team under duress.

Nobody would fault Ryan for saying words to that effect. However nothing like this should come in the form of a personal attack or threats of consequences.

"Obviously damaging the car on a warmup lap is unnecessary and is going to cost us a lot of extra work, but Anton is a fast young guy and has a lot to learn still. Clearly we'll be discussing it later."

Is that so hard?

A poor pit stop doesn't cost the team a lot of money and force other team members to work late nights. I can understand Barry's frustration.

Not disagreeing that slagging team members publicly is a bad look. How they handled Bathurst last year was appalling.

Maybe Stanaway should have ended up at Erebus....

Im not saying dont be disappointed, but keep it internal. Not a great look for him, the team and his sponsors.

Then again as with pit reporters, throw a microphone infront of anyone after an incident your likely to get the same response.

I thought he was Kim's son, if he's Brad's son then the wreck is understandble.

Andy is Kim's son.

I don't what their lineage has to do with anything. It was brake failure. Nobody would've come out of that unscathed.

Brake failure? That sounds like the year at Bathurst when both HRT cars had blow-outs when leading and HRT said it was caused by debris.

It was decelared brake failure by all and sundry.

You're making something out of nothing.

And how solid are the CotF cars to stand up to that without hurting the pilot, without catching on fire, without destroying the car.

And it should be back on track for the Sunday race

Amazing.

I'm worried for the drivers today, I would hate to see any of them suffer severe heat stress or worse, the teams have to be willing to pull the drivers out immediately if they show warning signs.

I was at the track this morning and left about 2:30 and it was already unbearably hot by that time, having them drive 78 laps under these conditions is crazy imo, way too hot.

Those Mustangs are making passing look awfully easy out there.

Early days but has Uncle Roger used his considerable resources to find a nice loophole in the aero parity?

This has to be a new record. Halfway through the first race of the year and the P word is being used.......

DJRTP appear to have their cars working nicely with the linear spring.

The 888 cars looked a bit ragged on their shootout laps. Didn't look as smooth as last year.
