So far so good. But for such a long race with multiple classes they need more than 1 man doing the commentary.

Bartels describing how he needs to re-adapt to ABS and traction control again... MC-12 was almost like a full prototype compared to the GT3 458.

How come some cars can't go a full hour on one tank of fuel?!
They have to do a full hour without refueling in regular GT3-races, so how can that be? Is Monza so much worse on fuel consumption? |

The 458 GT3s are starting to fall to pieces in terms of reliability...

Seems like GT3s and endurance racing still don't go together all that well... :|

Seems to be working fine to me other than a few cars pulling out...

Ginetta's gone kablooey rather spectacularly... also, is the live timing working for anyone? It got stuck for a few minutes, refreshed it now and it hangs at "Loading driver data".
P.S. Did the burning Ginetta remind anyone else of the burning Lotus at the Nurburgring last year? |

A little too late but I had the same issue with live timing in Firefox. IE was fine.

Great racing, with the different cars battling out and a slower, yet less thirsty car taking the victory at the end.

Just watching the MotorsTV delayed coverage and there isn't any commentary at all, most peculiar.

There was commentary for about 20 minutes or less in the middle and that's it. What a blunder.

Can't believe how unprofessional Motors TV was, showing the race with almost no commentary. I'd have watched the whole thing, but as it was just watched about 20 mins or so as it's pretty hard to follow what's going on with the crap SRO TV onscreen graphics and no commentary !
Series looks to have promise though, with a decent field. |

Very strange that Motors so stuffed up the coverage when there was such excellent commentary from David Addison on the GT1 webstream. I thought that they should have dug him up a partner so he didn't have to talk non-stop for 3 hours, but he was as well-informed and clued in to the monitors as always, and following the race was easy as a result.
The graphics were a complete mess regarding drivers; they never to my knowledge showed the correct driver in the car. Addison had the right names at the right time, but you couldn't possibly follow the race without the commentary since the specific driver in the car had a huge effect on its potential pace. GDL seemed to be having issues communicating with their drivers or getting them to listen; the burning Ginetta should not have been allowed to run around for laps with smoke belching from the right rear corner before it burst into flames, and the repeated offenses of Borghi in the final hour, particularly his blocking of the leaders after being summoned for his second drive-through, were rather reprehensible. That said it was a fun race to watch, much moreso than most of the 1 hour GT3 and GT1 races last year. Can't wait for more cars to join in and maybe a lower rate of exploding Michelins on tracks that aren't Monza so more cars can stay in the mix. Have to say advantage Porsche and Lambo on fuel mileage alone if races stay green in the future; but on the flip side it looked like the #2 Vita4One Ferrari was on the same pit schedule as the winning Porsche before its suspension let go after the 2nd stop so maybe the 458 can be made to run the distance too? |

Not trying to cast any aspersions on the commentary, but in the end it felt to me like the commentator was only able to make the best of a bad job. A second person is needed in the box. |

I definitely don't think it was perfect. That said I would take 1 Addison over 2 inferior commentators any day. Obviously he had more to work with, but I found it less tedious than even Hindy and Graham Tyler for the LMS at Ricard, and there were fewer misses of obvious things on the screen or mis-IDs of cars despite the amount of pressure he was under. Get the man a partner!
Anyway, I watched it in 3 parts, so the overload was lessened. |

To be honest, it was more pleasant to listen Addison's lonely ramblings, rather than having him paired with that annoying... so very annoying Herbert @ Spa 24 last year. Seeing as Johnny will be racing at the event itself this year, perhaps we'll get a better co-commentator. Richard Nichols, where are you?

I think it would be ideal to have another analyst/partial-colour person alongside for that type of race; Hindy/Shaw is one of my fave combos in that vein. A driver who is good at this sort of stuff is not a terribly common thing, and while Danny Watts was pretty good when he did GT1 I'd rather see the dude in a car. Predictably, I'd be fine hearing Addison/Ben Edwards for Blancpain.
Really like this championship, and I think we could be in for an absolutely cracking Spa 24. |

Now on the Motors TV coverage Hindy is commentating which seems most odds seeing that he is very anti SRO.

David has no problems with talking non-stop for three hours, the trick is to get him to stop......... |
