Tomas Enge
As Tomas Enge announces he will move back to F3000 with the Arden team, do you think he's missed his chance for a 'proper' F1 drive?

Unfortunately I think that could be true. It's a real shame, because some of his performances - particularly in qualifying - in F3000 last year were excellent. In a way, moving back to F3000 is the safe option, because let's face it, who knows whether or not Prost will be on the grid this year? But it does mean that he'll just have to hope that he gets another chance, or take an alternative such as CART.

In a way , Tomas is lucky that he didnt win the F3000 championship last year.....as surly he couldnt go back there for another year if he was champion....the champion must move forward....even if Justin is having trouble.....at least Tomas can say he's going back to take the title.

I think there is no place for him at Prost anymore, Prost has been saved by French investors(investing 45 million €) and they want a French driver, Alain Prost still wants HHF and HHF still wants to drive the Prost(that's what he always said), and Alain also said the 2nd seat will be filled by either Jonathan Cochet or Stephane Sarazin.
But Enge has already been in f3000 for 2 seasons, and I don't think we'll see him back in F1. |

Enge has had his time at the top, no doubt enjoyed the experience but is definetely taking the better decision in moving back down to F3000. Surely having an F3000 title under his belt is better than a 3rd overall? (Although winning the title hasn't done Justin much good, has it?)
IF Prost make it back, and IF HHF hasn't gone to Arrows by then, that would mean HHF would have one seat, and IMO Sarazzin should have the second, although Cochet does appear very talented (Didn't he win the Korean Superprix. I watched it not long ago.) |
