Gunslinger should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Oh great. Watch the replay a little closer.

JB moved ACROSS GM. Spectatular crash and thankfully JB is ok but i've seen far far worse incidents (purposely done).

The saddest thing about all this has to be Murphy and his arrogant comment caught on camera and for that Bargs gets fined??????? Amazing!!

All GM had to do was say" hey, sorry mate, are you OK ? Lets talk about this later" or words to that effect. These days saying sorry is nearly impossible as everyone seems more worried about possible litigation than doin' the right thing!
After watching the replay, it is only a slight touch and certainly not intentional like Romanos incident. As GM was following Bargs, IMO he was more at fault.I was also suprised 10 even showed the " talk" on the grid. Over the last couple of years , there have been a few incidents that in the past would have been covered but there has been no comment at all. I had put this down to their current " corporate Image" and although I understand why, have missed the heated exchanges we used to see reguarly in the past.

are you sure it is channel 13? i rushed downstairs to check when i read your last post, and found out that ch 13 (on Foxtel) is EPG (Entertainment Guide Plus). So were you only talking about optus? i have looked through the guides and the only replay close to last sunday is Monday 10pm.

On foxtel it would be on either 11 or 12.

On Foxsports News on Sunday night they showed the entire grid confrontation unedited, and it just seems as though there was an awful lot of swearing, then they were pulled apart. On the Ch10 coverage you missed all of the foul mouth...

Cool, watch the replay closely. Especially the helicopter veiw.

If JB was in the same class as GM, i might've had a little sympathy for the guy...

Bargwanna caused his own accident through wreckless driving. If he kept his original line, nothing would have happened. Shame Murphy copped a penalty for nothing. Incompetent stewards have a lot to answer for.

Racing incident. End of story. Just a bloody big one. Bargs moved over because the track narrows into turn 1. Bad idea. Then once contact was made, Bargs was basically a passenger, Murphy could have backed off, but no, he kept the boot in and turned Bargs onto the grass. Bad idea. Fair whack in my opinion. Murf gets the same amount of points as the other party in the incident, none.

As for incompetent Stewards... When are you joining up to have a shot yourself, ASE? Easy to chuck mud when you arent doing the job yourself...

I have the first two races on tape so if anyone is about to strangle themself for not watching the race I could help you out.

It was just a accident in my veiw but Murphy hurt his reputation with his comments.

I remember R. Ingal getting so pI$$ed off with a back-marker (who may have spun him accidently) that he chased the guy down and literally went after him, and spun the guy on the front straight. Adelaide i think, not sure. Then teammate Perkins (what a guy!) came passed and only just missed him. That could've been a real big one.

Incidently, what happened to Ingal over that incident?

"It was just a accident in my veiw but Murphy hurt his reputation with his comments."

That's true enough.

That was Imrie at QR in 2000. Imrie got in the way on the last lap, and Ingall lost a spot (from 3rd to 4th). So after the finish line, Ingall turned him around... that only resulted in a $10,000 fine...

Most of the V8 drivers seem to think they're above the rules anyway and Ingall's comments at the time about how Imrie is just a club racer were pathetic, in reality Ingall is just another driver who failed to reach F1.

V8insider should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Just herd from a mate who is a faby there and he said they were just pushing it into the paintshop on friday arvo. They only had to straighten the drivers side chassis rail, replace radiator support panel, replace watt's link triangle, replace both rear quarters, roof, boot floor had to be straightend and all the normal arms and accesories. I was amazed that the trailing arm boxes in rear floor were untouched and that majority of the damage was cosmetic.

Good work by the GRM boys!!!!

well ive been on both sides of pit wall, been a flag marshall, been a pit marshall, been a paddock marshall, been a starter, been racing for 10 years now, my father was a cams steward . . . . . . but maybe i dont know too much. Come to think of it i havent measured the width of phillip island track, but i think its the same all the way through to turn 2 at least.

I think the most apt term for GM's reaction is "venting one's spleen". JB should have pulled his head in as at worst it was only a racing accident with no malicious intent. GM's infamous comment is being takenout of context a touch as I believe he meant that he had done nothing wrong and would do the same thing again. He just forgot the first bit........

I seem to remember JB having a big one there in the wet all by himself a coule of years ago. Even kids in FVee know not to go near the pit wall in the wet at PI. Pit wall = bloody big puddles.

Then again, on the lap previous to Bargwanna's aquaplane, I think it might have been Bright who had a massive wobble on the same puddle, but somehow kept it all together. Don't forget that the drivers sit sooo low in a V8, it would take a Garth Tander to see the road ahead of them. I would blame Bargs on that one.

Agree with the out of context thing, but then again, Ch10 never broadcast the swearing etc coming up to what he said. ie, the following was not said:
Murph- "How do you do old chap?"
Bargs- "I must say, not to well at all. Somebody tapped my car off the track..."
Murph- "AND I'LL DO IT AGAIN, BWAHAHAHAHAH"

I wish I taped the Foxsports News that night...

There is no further action, to my knowledge, being taken.
It wouldn't go before a court anyway, only the CAMS stewards I think.
