Is it written by someone from this forum?
Surely it must be... |

It's not the Telegraph loving the race so much as it is Brian Laban, who has previous in this regard. Unfortunately for him his articles have been mostly overlooked, at least online (in comparison to Giles Richards whose Le Mans & WEC articles at the Guardian have a small but dedicated audience).
Still, it's always nice to see the press gearing up for the race in some small way |

It would be nice if the telegraph put out a decent report on the race in 10 days time, coverage of the race in the uk papers is never very comprehensive

Indeed, the coverage of LM always seems to be in the Motoring or Lifestyle sections of the sunday papers rather than in the Sport section.
The cynic in me thinks that if Porsche/Audi/Datsun/etc paid for the sports editor of a major paper to attend the event with cold beer (not from VG's salty cooler) and a hot buffet then it would be headline news. |

Nice to see the Laban article, but strictly speaking it's advertorial - which is great as an example of one of the commercial partners 'activating' their investment (I know, horrible marketingy jargon nonsense) but not perhaps as valuable as something with a bit more editorial impartiality.
That said, Erin Baker, the Telegraph's head of motoring, and who's been on the motoring desk for years and years, has been to Le Mans a few times and written up things about it pretty positively in the past (quick Google shows a decent showcase of her work), so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some more Le Mans related stuff in there - certainly under motoring if not under sport. |

It's a Michelin advert.
End of. The sponsor tells the writer what they want. Sadly. |

We can still agree with it though and if it opens the rose-tinteds of some who can't look beyond F1, it can't be bad.....

Doesn't get much more mainstream than this:
http://edition.cnn.com/2015/06/03/sp...ort/index.html And it is also under "sport". |
